Need Aim Penalty for Firing While Moving

There seems to be little or no penalty for firing while moving. This means that many firefights devolve into a dance of sidestepping, shooting, then sidestepping again. It doesn’t feel realistic; it feels cheap and arcadey and frustrating.

There should be more barrel sway, or some other aim penalty for aiming after moving. If a player is traversing sideways, they shouldn’t also get perfect aim down sights.

There is but it should be worse for AI too.

It is realistic to be able to shoot while on the move without some cod level sway.
cant agree with this one.

It is not realistic to dance back and forth while engaging in a gunfight with bolt-action rifles.

you can do that irl, its not practical but it is possible.

It’s not normal under battlefield conditions. It is the norm in this game. That’s my point.

Maybe there’s some better solution than increased barrel sway. If you have ideas, please present them. Sway would be far better than the current state where many gunfights feel like a choreographed dance rather than two soldiers trying their damnedest to kill each other.

I dont find myself ever doing the sideways moves, I just crouch and wait for the dancing partner to stop so I get the accurate killing shot instantly.

it is not normal under battlefield conditions because normally one side is on the defensive, holed up in fortified buildings, trenches, etc. But in enlisted it is really hard to shoot properly from those fortified positions, leading to these kind of battles.

Not much to add to the topic but I think its sorta related, I think the game need a suppression effect, happens at appropriate range for SMG (cannot suppress far) with LMG being able suppress at any range (maybe not hand-to-hand range).

Morale definitely should be a factor in games like this, as tanks are pretty much indestructible if players just keep on using them despite being under fire with no regards to their individual crew lives, etc.

I’d like to avoid a visual suppression effect. It’s annoying as shit when there’s other ways to tackle this problem.
