Nato or Chi Ri Gun difference?

QQ for the Jap gun experts, I want to bring the Nato into my BR4 line up and use it as a form of assault Apc, but not sure the Type I Model II is a competitive (powerful enough) gun, or I just bring the Chi-Ri with Type II Model I cannon

Are there significant differences between these Type I and Type II Guns?

Any reason to use one of the other Chi Ri has 2 HE spammable cannons, like Grant, Nato is assault APC with decent gun.

Chi Ri has a slightly better gun with a higher fire rate.

There is no reason to take Na-To over Ch-Ri.

Na-To is meant to be a tank destroyer that hides in the back line and snipes tanks. The Na-To has APCR shells which have 175mm penetration at 100m compared to the Chi-Ri APHE shell with only 148mm at 100m. The APCR has no explosive filler though, so you have to be more precise about where you aim. The Na-To APHE shells also have a bit of extra explosive filler compared to the Chi-Ri APHE, but lose a small amount of penetration.

Unless you absolutely need the extra penetration from the APCR to deal with BR5 tanks, you should choose the Chi-Ri. As an assault tank, the Chi-Ri is perfect for you.

Interesting how I get conflicting answers in regards to best gun, I am using Nato for now, It seems to front OSK most tanks in BR4, except a jumbo, Churchill too!

One comment said ACPR on Nato, I don’t see any option for that, I will check again, but I think it is only APHE?

As for Pen Nato Is better I think, but autoloader is why people recommending ChiRi, but I don’t like using paper tanks tbh

I also exit two crew members and position on flanks cover tank which has stopped me being got by Saboteur or Guerillas several times.

Na-To doesn’t get APCR in enlisted and its APHE has 144mm of pen.

Chi Ri has 148. Chi-Ri also has an MG in the hull and more than twice as many rounds of main gun as Na-To while having a turret.

There is a reason as to why Na-To is BR2 and Chi-Ri BR4.

FYI APCR was removed when it was downtiered to BR 2

Thanks, I think I will still stick with Nato, mainly because I can deploy two crew to cover guerillas, plus the fact ChiRi is a paper tank, I appreciate the comments though.
