Name and Shame

Not normally one for it, but its more trying to get feedback from players like their top scorer.

In this case someone who was cycling Body armour and PPS’s and still only getting this, only to quit near the end. Still scored the highest on their team but I dont get the obsession with the win rate stat, like who actually looks at it and cares?

Also yeah I said name and shame but I censored the names, sue me.

Body armours cycling is a myth, nobody ever use them! You can’t say that!

Oh true lmao, it just doesnt happen!!!

No but fr, its scummy even if this guy somehow lost a 1 v 5 fight vs me only using a lebel, while he had all PPS 42’s. Pure autopilot from his side I guess, since I had no right doing as well as I did vs that loadout.

To many people play till almost the end because they still get some spoils, but the quit before the end because they want to prevent taking a loss on their win/loss percentage and rank. I saw someone quit last week on my team who had I think around 119 kills, yet, quit before then end.

This happens quite a bit which is why I bang the drum for DF to just completely get rid of the rank and w/l %, as well as getting rid of any benefits one receives at the end of a game if they desert. Nothing to protect, nothing to earn if you desert, so maybe it will help cut down on the deserters.

I would have left as well if no one was trying to attack or defend a point especially when only 2 people out of 10 were building rally points or using APC

Honestly just removing the win bonus/loss penalty would go a long way towards that already. They should be encouraging teamplay, not score stacking but I digress, thats a separate issue.

I admit I don’t really understand those who desert for statistics… real life stuff fine, but win/loss ratios?

It’s really mathematically disadvantageous to do so right before the end.

But anyway. Devs and “not conscientious” players (keheheh) decided it’s better to put out fires instead of preventing new ones to start.

It is what it is.

I mean our team was playing really passively until the very end, I could get the replay but thats a bit much effort.

But all I did was hold a house in front of the point for my first spawn, got 18 kills off that,

Second life I built a MG on the point covering the left flank and got about 5 kills with that MG through the match

Third life I killed a T-28E and a T-60 with an AT squad<

4th life I pushed again with a lebel squad but they were down to about 300 tickets by that point.

and on my 5th, I accidently spawned a sniper squad since I tabbed out so just kinda rocked that to wipe up.

But before my 4th life, our team was just sitting on the point, I mean like 90% were using BA’s out of windows.

The enemy team was constantly pushing the point, but since I held the flanks down, they kinda just concentrated in front of the point and slowly pushed. till they lost steam at the 300 ticket mark.

I mean their team wasnt good, but it wasnt from a lack of effort.

My three things I would do are…

  1. Get rid of the rank system
  2. Get rid of the win/loss percentage
  3. Get rid of all winnings for anyone who deserts, whether you desert in the first 30 seconds or last 30 seconds, you desert, you get no silver, no experience and no tech tree research points.
  4. Give solo players the choice of playing against only other solo players, so they can avoid getting in matches where they will be seal clubbed by stacked groups. If they don’t care, then they just don’t select the solo player only option. I, as a solo player would always choose to just play other solo players. But this would help cut down on some seal clubbings IMOP,

See thats all good except point 3, there are so many valid reasons to desert, I just highly doubt in this case, this guy had one of them. I mean losing all earning due to a dodgy internet connection is too harsh.

No system will be perfect. I have lost internet on games where I had almost 100 kills and was on the verge of winning. Nothing blows more then that, especially when the prior game I was seal clubbed.

Ah!

I see you are a real one.

I do the same for each factions, I love those squads so much. I don’t mind charging into heavy fire with them (immersion, rather thematic)

Sovs: Red guards squad
Axis: Lebel Volks AND Tobruk (Italy ftw)
Commonwealth: Moroccan warriors
Japan: flag rifle squad.

They’re so funny yet at the same time so basic

from the scoreboard squad deaths it looks like they were just walking to the point and dying without even shooting lol. was this low br and Berlin because some areas are like 200m away from spawn and new players wouldnt know their way around it since it was just opened up to low br

Yeah it was along the railroad, the first point was a house with a courtyard to cross to get to, otherwise the soviets spawn in the forest with large rocks as cover, and some were spawning up in the train but I didnt want to go up to clear out the rally there.

They actually started quite well, they cleared my entire team except me out of the first line of defence in under a minute, but it just bogged down from there.

They were certainly shooting, though a lot of trying the “prone meta” which I never understood, it just makes you unable to shoot for a second or two to end up in a spot where your just as likely to get shot at sub 100m range.

Oh your lucky, I so need to get the flag rifle squad exactly for that, but yes I do love the BA blob tactics, its silly from a tactical sense, but fun.

Also the lebel is weirdly fun to use, you have a 10 round reserve but its slow firing and has no stripper clips.

what’s the prone meta?

I have no clue, but for some reason, I see a lot of players, especially in lower BR’s, attempt to prone the second they get into combat, but like I mean running full on before “hitting the deck”, except there is no hitting the deck feature in the game so they just stop and slowly go prone, making them a very easy target for a BA.

lol I do it with the LMG squad for the recoil and sometimes if its flat enough to bipod the gun

It can work on occasion, but even then for a LMG, Id only do that at range, never at sub 50m.

yeah I wouldnt do it that close when you can just crouch lol
