My Final Thoughts on the UK v.s. Italy Event and on Fair Fight Events and why I hate it

Now the event is over, I can say this, I hate this event with all my heart and soul, and here’s why

  • You cant use the equipment and squads you’ve grinded, I prefer to play a certain playstyle, dont force me to use something I dont want to use

  • The equipment thats usually allocated is not balanced (Examples, Breda 88 with 3x 100kg bombs vs Whirlwind with 2x 500lbs bombs)

  • Rewards are extrememely bad (only 1 copy of the gun?, not even a squad)

  • Extremely time bounded (a reset everyday, what happened to reset every 2 days?, FOMO much?)

  • Monotonous (Tunisia only, I’m sick of playing in open maps)

I’ve made a poll asking the forum if they like this event format

41 voters said they disliked the fair event format, I cant blame them, it really is bad, only 20 voters approved of it.

Consider this too, how many players have stopped playing events when its in the Fair Fight format, I’ve had some friends quit on this game because of these Fair Fights, whats worse is they can’t vote and couldnt voice out how they hate this event format.

Devs, you must prioritize what works and design your game around balance. Don’t just huddle over “Fair” Fight when it doesnt have Balance in mind. Don’t throw everything out of the window for the sake of Historical Accuracy or a theme you want to follow, always have Balance first, if you cant find Balance then stop with these Fair Fight because there’s nothing “Fair” about it.

You have a working event format, the 20k Events (yes you got better ones like the 5k unlimited), Please use that, the 20k Event format doesnt include any of the problems or reasons why I hate Fair Fight events.

These events should have been PVE. That way historical loadouts are possible without making it unbalanced

The problem is that in theory, no one liked the event, but in practice, it became profitable for them. For some reason, the points needed to obtain the rewards increased.

As long as there are people who pay, we’ll continue in this situation until infinity. The blame lies 100% with the people who pay and make this event methodology profitable. Basic economics

I actually did prefer this UK vs pasta & market garden event, rather than get 20k points every 2 days for 36 days to obtain a more or less useful weapon / squad.
Granted that market garden especiatly was rather poorly executed.

This kind of event with preset squads also puts everyone on same line, regardless how advanced your TT in normal game is.

I also prefer the 5000 point daily events, but that doesn’t mean Darkflow shouldn’t do longer events to attract more people and generate more money (Enlisted was never a project to win people’s hearts), if it works for them in the numbers there’s nothing we can do.

Both events, Market Garden and the UK vs. :pinched_fingers:t3: event, as well as the Japan vs. USSR event, were to see if people would be drawn to events that were “different” from the usual. That’s why they vary the required points in relation to the data they derive from the numbers.
