My current thoughts on the game. (bit of a rant. bit of advice)

Hello my name is thatcatwho and these are my current thoughts on how enlisted feels to play. so far it has been both enjoyable but frustrating because I see some elements that are very hurtful for gameplay and the flow of combat. i know this is very unstructured by I do have some good points in my opinion.

personally, my biggest problem with enlisted right now is the sluggish movement/climbing, and have half the time it feels like you’re fighting against it. i don’t enjoy trying to lean out a window and then having the game try and push me out of it. the way you clip onto random objects in rooms. climbing on objects can just straight up being none enjoyable.

Along with the limited way the engineer class currently works. It is right now, both powerful and weak. I think a button to destroy your rally point and buildings would be helpful for attacking (timed usage). There needs to be a way to rearm the AA/AT turrets. sights should be on the AA/AT guns. The MG being able to be just taken out by a single bullet to the gun seems to be stupid currently because there is no way to remount the mg. and you have to remove the whole sandbag mg and place it back down(give the mg ammo, not a overheat!). (I know most of the gameplay has been ripped from the Battle Royal game). limited way of fortifying locations. being unable to get onto the mg because of a window not being destroyed so you’re only opening and close the dam window not getting on the mg, lack of indication of how much supply you have as an engineer. in later updates maybe give them AP/AT mines.

AI can be a total nightmare when building (being unable to build because my ai wanted to give me hug isn’t enjoyable, also AI being able to push you around is very much a pain), building system needs to be changed with how it displays your current buildings and costs. AI should be able to give you ammo even if you have ammo! just because im low on ammo doesn’t mean I don’t want it!.

the spread of the squads throughout the campaign makes it rather annoying to get other squads at later levels, pushing the grind onto the squad unlock system. Another annoying aspect is the way you could!, have vehicles and weapons unlocked through squads and not through the campaign. also locking perks, weapons, ITEMS behind the leveling system isn’t ok and the stupid XP costs of leveling.

A large problem is the way, med packs, grenades, and tool kits currently are only gotten through one of the weapon rewards so enjoying trying to get say 3 more tool kits and only getting guns. on this note too. Gewehr 43 should be in if the svt 38 is (shouldn’t be a sniper only rifle). if you’re going to have russia get a shotgun, give Germany the M30 Luftwaffe drilling. russia could also get the bren light machine gun. on the subject of MGs make the mountable on windows!. i know this is CBT but I don’t enjoy how the only way to really use the gunner squad is IF you’re laying down.

the limited size of some the maps doesn’t help and forces CQC and puts boltactions at a disadvantage. The invasion gamemode is nice but you can get really bad bottle necking and just stomping of other teams because of well set up mgs, tank traps, AT guns. The tank spawns are awful for some of the maps and can put you into a bottleneck that gets camped.

Upgrade system is currently great but pointless because of how limited the perk options are right now, it’s man purpose is for you to make your squad bigger and weapon upgrades cheaper along with upgrading the rank of your troops and their xp gain.

Now lets talk about perks, perks currently are either very useful/overpowered (hp increase, reload speed, max ammo held, recoil when standing still, healing 200%, stamina recovery) or totally pointless (jump hight, weapon spread when turning reduced, faster movement when crawling/crouching, object climb speed) < most of these perks are terrible because the other perks are just flat out better. why take more stamina when more stamina regen is better.

You’re definitely right about movement, but I would call it janky rather than sluggish; it’s not really slow.

Good idea with timed destruction in Invasion mode

MG destruction seems like a balance thing as one of the reasons engineers don’t render dedicated machine gunners useless. I would count on engineer MGs to get an ammo count eventually as well, as tanks just got one added when they didn’t before.

Speaking of dedicated MGs, functional bipods seem to be another Soon™ feature, as recoil was just rebalanced to be next to nonexistent when prone, but higher than it was before standing.

Perks have definitely been debated a lot in the past and the general consensus is that health perks are OP, though along the lines of other perks being “useless”, I usually don’t agree. Really climb speed is the only useless perk that immediately comes to mind.
Of course some perks are niche as well. an assaulter won’t find much use for jump height, but I personally like janking my way onto odd rooftops to shoot off of or travel across.

Overall good points.

First: You are an imposter. You are not real. I am the real Cat.

Before beta it was better, as you were less sluggish. They nerfed it because people started to do tech movement too much, sadly. I liked the complex movement tactics.

It is extremely powerful and the stuff getting destroyed are pure balance measures to keep them from being OP.

No. We have had 100+ discussions about mines by now. No skill required, not counterable. Terrible idea.

Do agree, but make them actually run out of ammo themselves instead of magically pulling ammo out of their rear ends.

All agreed.

Are you using the crates that give specific weapons, by chance? As those only drop primary weapons.

is WIP

Some maps are better at this, especially D-Day is excellent for snipers.

Spawns are bad for infantry too on certain maps

How is +35% health pointless? Hello?

Idk about you but I highly prefer more stamina as I generally want to sprint in one go, instead of sprinting small parts in quicker succession.
