Good choices overall only thing I would do differently for personal preference is run the M18 Hellcat in place of another Sherman… I prefer running Mg squads on USA but again that’s me and I run three APC’s for reasons.
Zukerman squad is good for clearing points.
And the captured 1918a2 is quite good too.
Paras? yeah helpful but if these jeeps get more troops then that “might” be an option too, less risky at least… (if trying to set up a flanking rally).

My only real critique is to possibly swap out one of the squads for an MG squad in each nation just for more mid range firepower when you need. But I just like versatility, and I find I’m good with either SMG or MG.

My personal preference is to run an MP 35 for BR III Germany. I just feel it hits harder and is pretty much the only SMG capable of overcoming Soviet body armour spam. And for the Japanese, running the Type 100 late over the Type 2. I just prefer the sights and bayonet over it.

I only have 5 squad slots, so I’m a little bit more limited. I run the same setup for all nations, and all BRs that being:

-engineer squad
-guerilla squad
-assault squad
-MG squad
-tank squad

I have been thinking of equipping both engineer squads on the Allies as they can run shotguns as a sort of pseudo assault squad, and either replacing the assault or Guerilla squad, but I’m not too certain of it. I’m also hoping to eventually buy the premium APCs when they go on sale to add even more versatility to my lineup.

Shotguns are a great secondary not as the only weapon, to replace guerillas? yeah I’d still do it because an engineer squad not only can build stuff but can bring two specialists preferably radioman + AT gunner.
Overall guerillas are quite limited because of the inability to call arty or build structures. Assaulter or MG squads are better again with more firepower, I tend to run two engineers + a sniper in MG squads and one engi and one radioman and either a sniper or MG gunner for assaulter squads.
As for Premium APC’s all of them are good LVT 4 is a little slow and big though so take it or leave it…

Yeah I was thinking of just passing on the LVT. It’s a bit too obnoxious for me.

It’s still fun has good firepower and amphibious but USA already has a good TT “APC” and if you have/get the Universal carrier that’s better too. No not the best value that one, German one if the best “if you could only have one” because the TT German APC is a slow Artillery tractor.

Interesting choices.

A voice in the back of my mind is screaming at me to mention that you’re using US weapons on Commonwealth troops and Commonwealth weapons on US troops… the Sherman “Bomb” is also a Canadian tank… I am trying to contain the demons…

Overall, your setup looks very competative across all factions.

Personally, I am a BR III enjoyer (I rarely play BR V, and haven’t played BR II in ages).

I suppose I could share my own BR III decks:

Commonwealth Primary

Before anyone brings it up; I know I am using the M9 Bazooka on my Commonwealth troops. It’s primarily a balance meassure, because the PIAT doesn’t scale. The Brits did use the M9 post-war, and would likely have used them during WW2 if the war lasted longer, so that is my excuse

Commonwealth Reserve (BR III)

Just squads I got prepared, but not saved in my Commonwealth preset.

US Primary

I am suffering from a lack of US squads capable of taking Shermans.

US Reserve (BR III)

I got more squads for the US, but I haven’t invested as much into additional squad variety as I have the Commonwealth.

Germany Primary

Not much to say here.

Germany Reserve (BR III)

Naturally, I got more squads, just these ones are what I got prepared. I keep the engineer so I can service friends I play with, giving them ammo crates for their mortar squad. A very fun thing to do, playing spotter and ammo-carrier for a mortarman. I used to have my own mortar squad, but it’s equipment was moved to another squad, so it’s technically not ready for BR III (even if it has the soldiers).

Japan Primary

Everyone has Shin guntos (except Engineers with shovels) and lunge mines, because funny.

Japan Reserve

Same as above, Shin guntos for everyone (except Engineers) and lunge mines, because funny.

Honest initially though you would be upset by that (us gun on commonwealth and visa versa), don’t worry I feel the same from the American perspective.
(edit ) I like it a lot, except the G41 that is a very bad semi auto (I have some though).
Also why no Shin gunto on engi?

Upset…? I’m not upset… why would I be upset?

It’s gotten a lot better since the damage buff. I still hope for a reload buff at some point, but in the meantime it’s either the G41 or a Kar98K for me (which I actually did used to have as my main rifle even in BR III, until fairly recently, back when the G41 really was just bad).

My builders get shovels, it’s part of their tools.

I also do like digging down my rallies, I find that’s the best protection they can get when out in the open. But that’s secondary to the larp!

Used to use shoves now I just put AT mines on them and hide them. (also funny when the same player is killed same way several times in a row)
G41 is very stogy VG 1-5 is my go to, way more fun IMO.

I’m still way too deep into the larp, I like pretending like I am the Major of my own company. I’m an uncle to my men, I just feel guilty about giving my troops too many VG 1-5s - they’re scrap weapons.

Scrap gun, grease gun, m-1 carbs… the more cobbled together the better.
I respect the larp :peace_symbol:.

Interesting.

This is my ideal (low-BR) Engineer (M1 Carbine / light weapon and Winchester / shotgun are interchangeable):

The rest of the squad exists to protect the Engineer (somehow usually still gets sniped first, though). He therefor carries something light that won’t interfere with his duties, that packs a punch in close engagements in case I get rudely interrupted whilst building. They (along with my riflemen and AT soldiers) all also get backpacks with extra medkits for survival, as well as tools to aid allied vehicles in need.

And then he mines his own rally to bully any saboteurs for playing the wrong class.

Yes, I give all my guys pistols, even if that wasn’t common at the time… I just want to look out for my little guys. :hugs:

I also can’t forget about my historically accurate Commonwealth Engineers (“pig-sticker” bayonets naturally included).

Meh, you are missing some things. I play 3 and 5. To me it is more important to have versatility. More badges, useful in opportunistic situations.
I think it comes down to how a person likes to play. I have many different BR’s and loadouts. All my nations have triples multiple BR’s for the rotation.
Usually depending on if I want to knock out three tasks a battle.

Japan 1 for fun as I call it. It makes my melee skills sharp for every other nation. When you get the jump on a group of people huddled in a tight space its epic. My guys are built for pure melee health at BR 1. If you can take a shot and close the gap its easy.
