When discussing the MP 717 a good number of people appently think that the MP 717 would be to powerfull for BR 4 so this suggestion is dedicated to all those players.
The MP 717 is pretty much a copy of the PPD 40 but with a tiny bit worse ROF, dispersion, and velocity.
In addition the PPD can also be combined with body armor which is a direct upgrade over the MP 717 which cant do that.
So all things concidered the PPD 40 is a direct upgrade over a BR 5 weapon and as such should not be in a lower BR for no reason.
If moved the USSR would still retain the PPD 34/38 BR 4 smg and thus would not be missing an option to use in BR 4.
If they move the PPD-40 to BR V they should also move the “PPSh-45” up, it’s just a 41 with a metal folding stock and a slightly slower RoF and reload speed, makes no sense for it to be BR IV
The difference between Ppsh41 and PPD-40 has always been small, even after Ppsh41´s artificial buff that made its reload slightly faster, still hardly justifies the BR placement.
In my opinion the best course of action would be:
nerfing Ppsh41 and Mp717(r) reload time and moving them to BR4.
significantly buffing PPD-40 and moving it to BR5.
On BR5, SMGs are a niche weapon class that only get used by tank crews, guerillas, pilots and a very few fanatical SMG enjoyers. Ppsh41 is too iconic for such an important role while the compact PPD-40 suits this role way better.
Until literally this update the Kiraly was the only TT SMG the Axis had after BR3. It’s no wonder it’s still a widely used weapon when compared to the faction that has had two at BR4 and one at BR5 for far longer.
