While I’m generally fine with the idea of the OG-43 squad going as low as BR2, I imagine that’s going to be a harder sell for DF.
Let’s just conveniently forget the other BR2 paratrooper squads with BR 3 weapons in crates

All they would have to do is to remove the flamethrowers altogether from the crate if the battle is lower than BR III-V.
How difficult can that be.
Any impact grenade or advanced automatic weapon dropped from the sky poses a significant threat
They can clear strongholds more effectively
Then why can’t you use a flame gun?
Because I want this squad to finally sit in a proper spot and stay there. Not made temporarily OP, only to be nerfed to hell yet again soon thereafter.
Because it’s their only choice
Look at their machine guns and anti-tank grenades
What a joke
The United States and the Soviet Union had the best automatic weapons
So they don’t need flame guns (nor did they historically)
They just jump down and take out the machine gun that can be used as a rifle from the parachute bag
Or just take a submachine gun with a rate of fire of 1000 and start sweeping away
Unless they can take out the MG13 from the umbrella bag
Otherwise the flamethrower is necessary for them
Unironically, I wish I could take more ammo for the OG-43 from the crate instead of the current MG as assault loadout option.
People talk crap of the OG because it can’t squad wipe, but imo it lets you fight just fine even at mid range.
You only have to remember you can’t just barge into a room full of enemies and do helicopterd(u)ck as you would with a 100rd Thompson.
(There’s the flamethrower for that.)
I hope we eventually get 40 rnd mag version.
That’s how he compares to other paratroopers
The enemy always has the best
And those enemies wouldn’t allow him to have what they didn’t have
Mid-range combat may not necessarily clear enemies quickly and suppress fire.
But his enemies can do this no matter what class they are in
Relying on high-performance automatic weapons on hand or in parachute bags
They will use full-power ammunition or high-speed weapons to massacre you in the rear
Instead of an ordinary submachine gun that is stable at mid-range to complete these
Which is why this squad deserves a lower BR
This is why they need flame guns in low level fields
Because his enemies have these advantages at every level
They don’t necessarily need OP guns such as 1916 or Tokyo Arsenal.
Their closest direct equivalent is the British Welgun squad.
Those too start with a moderately effective SMG and lack super-duper-deathray guns in their crate, their best assault option being the Bren iirc.
And in fact, those are perfectly fine at BR II.
They don’t have Gewehr 43’s, they have Carcano m91 with scope mount.
I based this off Euth’s sheet.
That has since been edited back to the M91.
It’s a “BR3” sniper more appropriate for BR1.
It’s awful.
Arguably THE worst sniper rifle at the moment, and unarguably the one with the worst ROF.
(Meanwhile the Welgun squad at BR II gets the scoped Lee Enfield, that’s arguably the best one.)
That 40rd magazine would make the squad a bit more enjoyable in my opinion. I have the squad and I have used it once prior to merge. I was disappointed with the squad because of its lack of ammunition for the OG-43. I don’t mind the ZB-26 but it also was not enough to really get into a good position and fight for a more than short period of time.
I wish we could change the primary weapon of paratrooper squads (I only have the one Italian one) and I wish I could equip the FNAB/M38 because that’s primarily what they used. I feel thag the squad is pigeon holed into being the only Italian squad with lots of equipment but not as much significant equipment.
OG 43 with 20rnd is BR1 weapon though, the MAB 38 20rnd is better in everyway except I think reload time…
