The Me 410 A-1/U2 is an attacker aircraft on BR 4, but it is much more deserving of BR3. The closest analog on BR3 is the FW 190 A-8, which preforms strikingly similar despite being a fighter. The Me 410 is 60 Kph slower (650 Kph vs 710 Kph), and has a 20 second turn speed near identical to the A-8’s. The guns on the Me 410 are quite good with four 20mm cannons with 1200 rounds total, two 7.92mm MGs, and two AI controlled 13mm turrets. The FW A-8 has a similar set of weapons, four 20mm cannons with a bit less ammunition (720 rounds) and an extra two 13mm MGs (800 rounds). External armament of both planes are 21 cm Wfr.Gr.21 rockets, with the FW 190 getting two, and the Me 410 having four.
So to summarize, most of its stats are very similar to the FW 190 (which is a fighter on BR3), but given it is in the attacker role and its downsides, it won’t be too powerful.
- More ammunition for the 20mm cannons but has weak 7.92mm secondary guns compared to 13mm secondary guns, so it about evens out
- 60 Kph slower and has a similarly slow turn speed
- Is in the attacker slot, so the larger payload won’t be too powerful
- Has two 13mm turrets, which work do good work when they hit, but they can’t be manually controlled and the AI isn’t too accurate in my experience

Should the Me 410 A-1/U2 be moved to BR3?

Its very close performance to Mosquito FB Mk VI that is BR III so yeah.

I found it always odd that this version was BR 4 and the (in my option) much worse bomb versions was considered more powerfull and is BR 5.

Rockets are the most effective piece of gear for planes in general - nothing call kill infantry like rockets. Bombs are nice to take out tanks, but taking out infantry is what will win you the game.
As such I never understood why those German rocket planes were locked to BR4, while US and Soviets can use them in BR2 - BR3.

Honestly, even BRIII is high when compared to P-38 G. P-38 G being stupidly undertiered is another matter worth discussing though since its actually hardly worse than its brother, the J variant.

Not sure how it feels for everyone else, but for me, it seems the rockets on the Me 410 are harder to take out tanks due to the wingspan. Then again it might just be me. I would also like the B1 variant brought down from BR5. Not entirely sure whether BR4 or BR3 would be the best suited. It definitely doesn’t seem worthy of BR5 any more

Same thoughts on that. I think moving it to BR4 but giving it 500kg bombs instead of the 250kgs is the best decision, since moving it just straight to BR3 would be a bit of a waste considering it would be the exact same payload of the BF 110s with worse flight performance.

Me-410s have always been grossly overtiered. At best they are a side grade to BF110s (arguably worse), without player controlled gunner.

my answer about my no: change the loadout
just FYI this plane in Warthunder only has one loadout. They dont typically “make up” load outs, although they have once or twice before

Our Japanese friends really understand German aircraft.

I think in their currents states, every BF-110 and Me-410 should be BR3, with an except for the premium BF-110

Yes, I can tell. Perhaps your grandfather was a World War II pilot.
