The Ka-Chi as an old premium tank on BR2, but it is very weak for the rank. While it has a usable amount of base armor (which, might I add, is the same as the Panzer 3J’s) and the pontoons do soak up some damage, it is a dreadful tank to use. It is fairly slow at 35 KpH, it is a huge target, the float in the front frequently gets in the way of enemies in front of it due to the height of tank and length of said float, it completely lacks any machine guns (the only potential one is blocked by the floats), the commander can’t lean out of a hatch, the internal visibility isn’t great, and finally, the gun. The 47mm cannon is not a good cannon and isn’t suitable for BR2 at all. It is, in fact, weaker than the Panzer 3J’s short 50mm cannon; slightly in penetration, but so much worse in anti-infantry capability to the point that the Ha-Go’s 37mm cannon has better HE shells. For some reason though, this is at a BR that contantly gets upteired against Shermans and KV1s, and can’t do anything against them, with no reason to use this over the Ho-I or one of the Ho-Nis, which can are much better at both anti-tank and anti-infantry roles. So, if this tank goes down to BR1, it will be decenty survivable against enemy tanks if played correctly and be able to deal with them without too much trouble, but still be quite bad against infantry.
