The BF 110 G-2 was long a staple of German BR3 attacker planes and was the primary plane you would see being flown in mid BR by Germany. This changed though, when the devs moved it to BR4, apparently because the ‘rockets too strong’, with four, yes powerful, rockets; but these are inaccurate and need direct hits on tanks to destroy them, compared to any bombs, which have neither of these issues. Other planes with rockets however got literally no change to BRs despite being also very good for their BRs, which are the IL2 1941, IL2M, all the P38s with rockets, and the FP5, each of which could IMO go toe-to-toe with the G2. But this change also comes just days before the devs decided to make a very hypocritical decision based off the reason for moving the G2 up and introduce the XA-38 to BR3, with four 250kg bombs. So while the G-2 is stuck on BR4 and constantly getting uptiered, the XA-38 is on BR3 with the same exact payload of an established BR4 attacker (A20 G25) with generally similar or better stats. Given how there are opponents on BR3 with either similar or better guns and/or similar or better payload, I suggest returning the BF 110 G-2 to BR3.

Plus the 37mm is what the lead indicator is zeroed in for, not the 30mm cannons. So on top of not being very good against tanks, it’s also not very good against planes.
Its rockets, while brain dead easy to use against “infantry”, do not overide its major downsides
Poor air to air capability (Guns are zeroed for the highest velocity trajectory, IE not the 30mm)

Skill Ceiling for AT (Direct hit required)…you wont see casual players killing tanks beyond a fluke.
Im not a Fan of Enlisted BR ratings being focused on the single strongest attritbute, despite the rest of the package being quite shit-mediocre (relatively)
Even the skill ceiling of the rockets against tanks relies on RNG, the trajectory of rockets are random and the difference can often lead to a perfect lineup by the pilot doing nothing.
The best way to counteract this is to get as close as possible, but with a plane as clunky as the BF-110 you’d usually end up just crashing.
You mean—it’s just like a laser round, only there to provide a crosshair? Wow, that’s totally useless then. Might as well replace it with a 20mm round or a machine gun laser round
I like this aircraft; it was practically the backbone of Germany’s BR3 lineup. I used to rely on it to take out Zhadan bombs and KV tanks. Now that BR5 has better ordnance, I barely use it anymore. It’s high time this aircraft moved back to BR3 to support the German faction.
Yeah the 37mm basically exists to just make shooting down planes harder. It’s also meant for tank busting but in my experience it does terrible post pen damage.
uptiering the 1 decent german BR 3 attacker plane while leaving all soviet rocket planes untouched is peak Darkflow behavior. No soviet bias here, no sir
IL-2 is slow, M’s main gimmick is the cannons capable of destroying tanks.
P-38 is more of a fighter which can destroy tanks if you are really good with aiming your rockets.
FP-5’s HVARs are quite significantly weaker than W.Gr.21.
None of this is as versatile as Bf.110G-2.
Bf.110 G-2, however, on top of decent speed and powerful rockets, has cannons with good splash damage against infantry. It has spammed enough rockets, time to assume its real place.
BR3 BF110 G2 better than BR3 FW190 A8. But it’s fine when P-51D stays BR3 (US would get no good bomb-carrying planes on BR3 TT if it’s BR4 so it should stay).
except the FP-5s HVARs are much more accurate and are placed on a fighter aircraft, which ALSO carries a droptank. That matches the firepower, while also being more manouverable, while being at BR 3.
I’d also say having 6 M8s is pretty much equal to 4 W.Gr.21s, so it’s unjustifiable to why this sits a whole 2 BRs lower.
We can also compare the G2s loadout to the XA-38s loadout, which may be similar in terms of offensive firepower, but it wins out by having a better cannon and more devastating ordnance.
When they did it i looked for people and i found only one person complaining about it and that was when the 37mm were busted against tanks.
Then… asked a specific helper and even mcdonald why and was told regardless of how many people own a vehicle it’s armament determines its BR… and then they add the XA38 like it was a literal fuck you.
Which admittedly i was arguing that because of how many people already waste the slot with it from pre merge this shouldn’t happen but it’s also comical with their future actions such as BR3 A20G
Personally I think that all rocket planes should move to BR4, their anti infantry power is much much much higher than all other payloads - which ultimately has more impact on the match than just hunting tanks with bombs.
That being said, that BR1 Soviet biplane in BR4 would be ridiculous, so lowering BF 110 G-2 back to BR3 would make also sense.
