Move the A-20 Boston Mk.3 (Russian lend-lease with 100kg bombs) to BR2

The A-20 Boston is an attack aircraft in the Russian tech tree at BR3, and is very underpowered for such a rating. While it has a decent turn speed for a bomber at around 16 seconds, both it’s forward guns and bombload are plain bad for BR3. The two 12.7mm machine guns in the nose only have 350 rounds between the both of them, which runs out incredibly fast considering the guns have 1,026 RPM each. The bombs aren’t really good enough to make up for it either, with only four 100kg bombs. Compared to the Su-2 already on BR2, it has an insanely fast turn speed of just under 15 seconds (faster than the majority of fighters), has two more 100kg bombs, and while the guns are slightly weaker themselves, there are four 7.62 machine guns that have 3,400 rounds between them that last forever, and still are able to do a lot of damage due to the incredible rate of fire (1,800 RPM) and quantity of the guns. Even comparing it a non-meta attacker on BR2, it is shown to be worthy of being lowered to BR2 with tradeoffs. The Sb-2m lacks pilot controlled guns and has AI controlled 7.62mm machine guns in the nose, weaker than the 12.7mms but lasts far longer, and has an incredible turn speed of just under 12 seconds, and also has six 100kg bombs while only being a bit slower.

So based on the fact that these attacker aircraft are on BR2, I think that the A-20 Boston should be lowered to BR2.

Should the A-20 Boston MK.3 be moved to BR2?

russian op planes shouldn’t be the standard, tbh.
Could anyone make a topic about reducing the bombload of their vehicles?

Even without the su2 in game the russian a20 is horrendous at br3 and should get a buff to bombload

Oh, I didn’t realise this was about the BOSTON, sorry

Voted no because I would rather it get a better bomb load if possible. Not sure what the available load outs are for the lend lease version, because if memory serves me well the Russians had to modify the bomb racks to fit their ordinance. If im wrong and somebody knows more, just ignore me.

Well, if you ask me, the BR2 even has hardpoints for six 100kg bombs, and it’s just a TT.

By comparison, the Boston A20 is much bigger, yet its overall armament is nerfed compared to the original Lend-Lease version.

I just don’t get it. War Thunder just copied the original specs. Why did they suddenly nerf it here?

That’s right, being able to change weapon loads is also a big difference.
As I recall, this plane originally came from the Stalingrad campaign.
Back when the tech trees were separate and there were map restrictions, it could still perform well.

But now the environment has completely changed. Everyone judges firepower based on battle rating.
In today’s meta, this plane is just not competitive at all. It feels like a roadblock holding you back from progressing up the tech tree.

This aircraft should be capable of carrying at least two 1000lb bombs.
But they only gave it this pitiful loadout. It’s such a waste of its potential.

I see no reason why they couldn’t give it the 6 100kg bombs and keep it in br3. They got the US variants with 4 500lbs bombs

I would like to see a mix of 250kg and 100kg for the payload to differentiate between the su2 on br2 and the american one on br4.

I think changing armaments would be better than changing BR.
What the players want is this looks better.

also their knifes is so OP!

How about you adress the actual argument? Maybe show the superior bombload and manouverability of the Su-2?

I play only Lagg-3-34, Yak-3k for a while

Bro threw in a fun fact about himself💀

I suggest using the yak1 over the yak3. Even though the yak1 is br1 it’s far more competitive than the yak3.
