The Mkb42(H) is the world’s first true mass-produced and combat deployed assault rifle that has since revolutionised warfare.
The Horn StG is an old event gun with its own squad that is underpowered and is among the weakest weapons of its BR.
Sadly the Horn StG has no buff potential that could make it interesting or worthy to use in BR V.
That leaves us with moving it down with a BR, which shouldn’t be an issue since it is only marginally better than the already BR IV StG45(M).
Moving the Mkb42(H) to BR IV is a slightly more controversial change because its in the Tech Tree, though with its current stats, it would fit in BR IV without affecting the power balance.
The main argument against moving the Mkb42(H) to BR IV used to be that it would be the only Tech Tree assault rifle and some players would surely dislike that, regardless of how weak or powerful it is.
This argument however has lost its weight since the Type 2a (6.5mm) was moved to BR IV.
Here is a comparison with Mkb42(H), StG45(M) and Type2a (6.5mm)

The main reason I had the Type 2a (6.5mm) included in the first data is because it has been recently confirmed, that its going to stay in the Japanese Tech Tree, while a 30 round variant will also be added to BR V. Since Japan will now surely keep a BR IV assault rifle in the Tech Tree, I think it would be time to consider moving the weakest BR V assault rifles to BR IV.
I understand that Japan deserves some special treatment because they have very few guns compared to other factions. However if the Japanese faction can get a Tech Tree assault rifle at BR IV, I cannot see a reason why the same could not be done with a limited event gun or why the world´s first assault rifle would not deserve such a treatment, especially since the Mkb42(H) does not have much buff potential either, certainly not enough that would make it worthy at BR V.
Move the Mkb42(H) to BR IV
Yes
No, its fine as is
No, just buff it even if it remains uninteresting to use
I don’t think an asssult rifle should be in BRIV as tech tree because then all the other nations will beg for one… which I’m pretty sure japans “assault rifle” went to 4 so that’s getting there… except it sucks… at least this is viable for practical application.
I accepted this argument until the Type2a (6.5mm) got moved to BR IV and if that did not happen, I wouldnt have made this suggestion.
I do think that Mkb42(H) will be weak enough that players wont complain about it ruining balance so it would only be unique and not OP on BR4.
Good excuse to give Allied factions some event/BP ARs, so everyone gets access to the fun, but does not necessarily mean we must have 1:1 balance.
However, I do understand the reasoning behind your opinion.
All factions have access to assault engineer squads, Im not really sure what difference German assault engineers specifically make when Japan already has Tech Tree assault rifle and same event squad at BR IV.
For me its fine that it has it since now I have this magical weapon with fast reload perk its nice BR III now is my favorite Germany BR so many cool toys and after the update will become even better but I need squad slots xD
Is it?
Does every faction also need their own M2 carbine in or Beretta 1918 copy in their own Tech Tree, at the very same BR? If you really believe it is a must at all cost, you are welcome to write a suggestion.
Well, not exactly an assault rifle thus can’t be used on assault engineers but there’s something far far better on USA side at least, take a look at this gun.
This gun on Assaulter 4 class soldier absolutely rips everything apart whatever it meets on BR 3. 980 RoF, 8.8 dmg with a relatively good muzzle velocity, 20 rnds but also very short 1.6 secs reload speed that this gun only held back by being an event weapon and SMG level dispersion value.
Even then, this gun is extremely over powered on BR 3 considering all other weapons on the BR 3 that i have no idea why it’s still on BR 3.
In the same logic, pretty much all assault engineer squads can’t use high capacity shotguns on BR 1 unlike USA assault engineers. Should we must adds magical high capacity shotguns for everyone as well even tho they didn’t have any of them IRL then?
I acknowledged that but the mkb is nowhere near as bad
Perhaps that is true… I guess it’s just more versatile with its power at range compared to kiraly
With multiple additions it’s reinforced the fact there must be 1:1 balance according to community and devs
I wouldn’t mind if other nations got access to it either but like prefer it to the tech tree but I’m sure there isn’t any widely used weapons that would fit that.
I don’t think that it would be fair to the other nations until they got their version all around the sam time really.
