There was a time where flamethrowers were considered very strong, but after the series of nerf has been made on to them they feel quite underwhelming to use. On their respective BR(Which is BR 4 for the stronger one and BR 3 for the weaker one currently), there are many powerful fully automatic weapons available at that BR and what usually ends up happening is that you actually lose the fight against players with such weapons at close range because let’s say even if you flamed them up first, they just spray back with hipfire at you and they actually kills you faster than you could kill them. Reducing their respective BR by 1 would makes them easier to use by having less chance to meet such automatic weapons in general.

Alternatively, i think remove or reducing the movement speed penalty while using flamethrower would makes it far more viable weapon to use. Using flamethrower massively slows down your soldier so it makes you very vulnerable while using it, this actually gets you killed a lot as you can’t really evade incoming enemy hipfire by maneuvering.

Nope, skill issue.
It’s fine as is.
Definetely not increase speed, they should be bulky and unwieldly.
AS regarding ur skill issue, don’t fcking run straigh into the enemy fire and expext to not get shot.
You use flamethrowers tactically, like clearing a house, bunker trench etc, by keeping some distance and spraying into a house or down into trench, you don’t expose yourself, then you deserve to die.

But from what I can gather ur a spray n pray fortninte players, hence you ask for unrealism with faster running, and why u not use em as a support weapon in a certain way.

So No, No and No

Agreed, using a flamethrower requires tactics and limited usage, you can’t just expect to fire any flamethrower in an open field while your enemy is still far away. But once you get used to it, it’s very powerful in any way.

These people make arguments like they are some lawyer prosecuting a criminal - chill out man.

The attitude and toxicity emanating from this post is honestly disgusting, rude and should be considered in the grand scheme of things when trying to build a better community. Just be a nicer dude and if you disagree, explain why in a nice way.

Sorry you had to deal with this guy when making a fair suggestion, you seem like a lovely guy and keep making suggestions!

I did not get personal - you got personal friend.

You should show a degree of respect towards people who make a suggestion. They take time and thought into posting a suggestion, and even if you disagree, you owe a fellow contributor to the community respect and decorum.

My brother in Christ, I have no attitude. I have been contributing on this forum for a short time, trying to do so constructively. In the majority of posts, I have found people who disagree constructively, and those who do not. You unfortunately fall in the latter.

this feels oddly personal for a post - I never white knighted anything, I think people like you who are very critical of posts, and offensively in some ways like insulting the gentleman’s gaming integrity by suggesting something minor like a change to a flamethrower that he plays fortnight is just rude. It suggest he is a child, or lack of understanding for the matter. I simply challenged the manner in which you disagreed.

Man, you need this more than me - be better to fellow contributors to the enlisted community

The fact he is making a “suggestion” with a medium-lengthy post, with multiple options in a poll do show he has thought out the issue. Again, I have not personally attacked you once and you have me a fair few times. I’d suggest next time you disagree with an idea, you focus on said idea rather than ad hominem attacks - maybe then you won’t take down your post or get it deleted

Sorry to disappoint but you were the one who accused him of being a fortnight player for making a suggestion - also an inference you were happy to make was to basically call him a child for doing so.

So again, this is something you started.

I responded to what you said, you never replied to me, I replied to you and said your conduct was unacceptable.

I hope the time you have the courage to make a post, people do not treat you with the same candour you have treated this contributor. I am sure what you expected was for people to be quiet and not challenge you sir, but I have had enough of people like yourself insulting members of the community.

Keep the thread on-topic and the conversation civil and respectful.

I don’t want to have to close the thread down because you all can’t play nicely together.

I’d say let’s end it at the point where if the Flamethrowers from BR III were lowered to BR II, then it would invertedly expose them to BR I newbies due to regular up tiers, meaning this is a no-go.

If the skill ceiling was high enough where every player on BR I with bolt could fire past 25 meters accurately then flamethrowers would be even worse off in lower BR than at BR III, however that is not the case, so this weapon would only become strong due to facing inexperienced players, not because the user excels at it’s usage.

Oh and for those hoping to counter with the existence of the BR II Italian paratroopers that have pocket flamethrowers, do take into account they also carry the additional high risk of being squad wiped before you even make it onto land or ending up with less than half the squad members.
