I don’t think Chauchat belongs to BR 2, it’s possibly the worst LMG in the game.
Rate of fire per minute is extremely low, being only 300 RPM which is even lower than the semi-auto rifles in BR 2. It also comes with -50% sprint speed penalty and very slow aim down sight speed, the usual LMG penalties we all familiar with. I think it’s reasonable to suggest move Chauchat to BR 1 from BR 2.
The worst machine guns in the game should really get moved to BR1.
I dont really see a reason why BR1 cant have machine guns when BR2 with MG will always match together with them.
I don’t think those buffs would still suffice for Chauchat to stay in BR 2.
Unless we also reduce the sprint speed penalty as well as the aim down sight speed penalty just like some of those “light” LMG like BAR, KE-7 it would still remain as the worst LMG that’s not really belong to BR 2. And frankly, even with all those buffs, with only 300 RPM still probably over shadowed by other LMG on the same BR imo.
Maybe better aim down sights would be good too but I think ur underestimating the value of no movement dispersion. Only like 2-3 mg in the game have that stat.
Oh don’t get me wrong, i know how good it is to have it on LMG. There’s only 3 “LMG” i know of that have this trait.
The first one being Fedorov LMG and the second one, Type Hei LMG and finally, Vickers-Berthier. The first 2 ones, if you ask me, i don’t really consider them as the “real” LMG for very obvious reasons. The last one, Vickers-Berthier only have this due to bug or at least i think that’s why it have that.
Yeah but anyways, I actually use the chaucat a lot as it’s a historically and aesthetically cool gun. I think better ads speed and no movement dispersion will be enough to let it shine. It’s not good but it’s not as bad as ppl say. That accuracy comes in handy.
It does have a great accuracy as the LMG goes. Less sprint speed/ADS penalties along with no movement dispersion penalties would works too then i guess.
The rate of fire is pathetic, which is why I did not buy it when it was on sale . It’s definitely not BR2 worthy as it is, but unless every faction can get a MG into BR1 then unfortunately it should stay in BR2. A ROF increase to at least 400 would help, however I don’t know the real specs on the gun, so maybe it never shot more then 300, IDK.
