Please move carriers back a significant distance from the resupply point. This would open the skies up for more dog fighting as well as give slow carrier based bombers time to gain speed and altitude.
I often find myself going after a Japanese fighter only having to peel off and the very tight turning zero then easily gets on my six. Or I happen to catch a bomber coming off a carrier with almost no maneuverability and easily take them out (feels scummy)
The meta currently is to make a straff/bombing run and head back to resupply immediately. Doesn’t give much time for dedicated fighters to patrol and attack before you’re in range of carrier AA. There isn’t much fighting over the ocean or behind the mountains because CAS is what most people do.
So by moving the carriers way back (which would be more realistic) it would significant improve the aerial combat imo.
Buff the AP-1 to make it a viable option. I doubt we will ever see it used for torpedo bombing sadly… I would like to see 2x 100lb bombs added to the payload. This would make it more viable. The P-51D is a much better option with same armament. If the AP-1 had a load more like the Stuka, I wouldn’t mind it being slow and less maneuverable.
Hard to imagine in a time when AC takeoff becoming the biggest drawback for Pacific aircrafts, there are still people demanding to keep the AC further away from the battlefield.
When your plane takes off from an AC and flies slowly all the way for 3km (or even “significant” more according to OP’s requirements), your teammate’s corpses are already cold.
It only takes 20 seconds for the main U.S. military aircraft to arrive at the battlefield
Carrier-based aircraft takes about 1 minute
This is why the respawn distance of non-carrier-based aircraft should be increased
Or block the high-altitude respawn point at the beginning
Or give the carrier-based aircraft better acceleration
Otherwise there is absolutely no reason to drive them.
Yeah the AP-1 feel like a downgrade Dauntless so it pretty unpopular.
