Sounds like CoD, I hate CoD.
I never played COD, but I like shooting really active players. More satisfying than nailing a soldier sniping from a window
Iāve seen the same, and itās almost (almost) enough to raise my blood pressure. The other day on Berlin I got to fight not one, but two players who, in turn, had bunny-hop close assault FG-42s and then, just to change things up, bunny-hop close assault MG-42s. They were obviously professional players, because there was turning while in mid-air of the bunny hop.
My usual tactic is to increase the engagement distance (if possible) once I run into these jumping beans. I find that a grenade launcher is a good way to recon them out or at least try to cut their legs off at the knee.
As far as Moscow, and this may be because itās the first campaign I played, but I always felt (and still do) that it has the maps with the best mix of range of engagement.
Normandy always felt a little constricted to me (although Iām not a fan of it in general. Mostly because I was around when the first Medal of Honor: Allied Assault came out, so I feel like Iāve fought in and around Normandy enough over the last 22 years. I also saw Saving Private Ryan in the theater - twice- so that pretty much spoils any attempts to recreate it). It should feel open, but for some reason it doesnāt.
Tunisia needs work. I think everyone already knows that.
Berlin isā¦growing on me, sort of. It has a good mix but I think it needs more variety of maps.
But you are right, I did see some ānewā behaviour on Moscow maps the other day. By ānewā I mean the twitchy-CQC-jump-spin-with-an-automatic-weapon (LMG/MG/SMG) while-I-pre-fire-a-corner type behaviour.
I preffer to make a plan and execute it well. In CoD you turn off your brain and all that matters is your muscle memory. If you are skilled enough you can even play on āauto-pilotā.
Hell, I played MW3 and had ok results on āauto-pilotā. And Iām not that good.
Isnāt the best plan to be aggressive, move forward to attack/defend the point and kill them before they kill you? If their tactics work and help win games then I think they have a great tactic.
Rush forward while bunnyhopping is not a plan. A plan requires thinking about other things than kills.
Shooting should be part of a plan, not a replacement.
To be clear, I donāt want to make this game into RTS. Itās just⦠I have a feeling that planning anything in this game is actually a downside rather than a benefit. Itās simply a waste of time.
I play Moscow regularly and I can“t say that I“m having same experience⦠except stupid teammates. Sometimes I fuck up big time too, but seriously, my back hurts from carrying more often than I should.
You were probably just very unlucky with meeting so many bunnyhoppers⦠I can imagine it had to be rather cancerous experience.
But to be fair, there are some questionable soviet players tooā¦
Just⦠just look at that! You canĀ“t make this up lolā¦
Itās the kind of thing that might drive a person to suggest that they make it so people who are carrying an LMG or an MG drain ALL their stamina when they jump, regardless of perks. And maybe for good measure slow down the rate at which stamina refills while carrying those weapons.
Another option might be to make shot disperson go to 100% whenever jumping, but I donāt know what this engine is capable of and, coupled with lag and/or desync, itāll inevitably hurt someoneās feelings.
Like I said, I try to stand off when I run into this type of thing and start hucking grenades. But Iām also only a few years shy of 50 so my reflexes aināt exactly in the e-sports range, therefore I have to be more deliberate when I play.
Or just not allow them to use any weapon that is not melee (pistols can also be tolerated) during jump animation.
I don“t think that messing with shot dispersion or other such parameters is a good idea, it will only require more fixing later.
Yeah, there are tons of weak players in Moscow (idk why). I even met teammates that used arty against their team, lol.
Two perks: +100% stamina and regen. Youāre a golden bunnyhopper.
And use 2nd squad assaulters that also have additional +35% stamina.
Yay !!! there is more of us oldies out here. Thought 47 my end was kinda pushing it for this game.
I know what youāre saying. Again I donāt know how specific this engine allows them to be, but I did go and look for those perks before I typed that out, so I am aware of what youāve indicated. Only thing I could think of that would be fair would be to allow the MG class to benefit from those stamina perks WRT jumping, but again, that may be too specific a thing to code. At least then itās only maybe 3 members of a fireteam that can sort of do that behaviour.
I still have my moments where I do decent. But there are some jack rabbits running around on these battlefields.
I hear you and iām the same. Even though bunny hopping is a kinda
a strategy its BS. ( I have great pleasure killing bunny hoppers but it does need hip fire )
There is no way I would run in battle in real life and start jumping, lol.
Other games limit this and it would fit here also.
I should have used better phrasing. Leaving aside the bunny-hoppers, I have seen other players that are just fastā¦faster than me, which isnāt saying a whole lot, but thatās what I meant to indicate.
And teammates that throw molotovs at my T-28 and destroy its engine, teammates who destroy my machinegun nests with explosion packs and the ones who mele my rally points for no reason.
This started happening with Moscow being available to console players.
Those console players need to tone down their salt levels, same mentality as āIf I cant have it, he cant have it!ā
15% sprint speed perk, holding a saber, and using trooper IIās with their 5% sprint speed base perk will make you move very fast.
