like when you really get down to it the two-inch mortar isn’t really even very accurate… it hits randomly in a larger radius then the friggen artillery strikes and you have far fewer shots then a single artillery strike, like the aim is horrendous you can mark a target and set the distance perfectly on the mortar have it perfectly centred on the target but you still have to use at least half of your shells before you’ll get a direct hit on what you were aiming for… not saying i haven’t killed people with the mortar but im feeling like the kills are more like playing medicine ball dodgeball in a pitch black room… someones bound to get hit eventually it you shoot blindly enough in the general vicinity of a capture point…
Try grabbing the engineer the squad has access to and building an ammo crate.

i was under the impression only your slot 1 weapon was able to refill on ammo. iv never been able to refill my slot 2 weapons ammo
You need to have it selected, then you can refill it.The only exception is rifle grenades. Every other weapon can be refilled.
Darkflow: I see nothing wrong with this perfectly balanced mechanic

weird cause iv never been able to refill a weapon i had in my 2nd slot though i only ever tried to refill regular weapons like an mp40 i picked up off an enemy or other stuff like that
you can’t refill weapons you pick off of the ground i believe
Well there is your issue. It doesn’t work on stuff you picked up. And that does not matter whether the picked up weapon is primary or secondary. It only works with stuff you spawned in with.
No, absolutely not
They need to make the mortar unusable outside of the opposing team’s playable area before any other changes to it are made
I typically will drop two crates, back up a bit, then look for the notification “Press F to refill ammo” when deployed. It’s picky about positioning on it and that notification is a good indicator. When you get it right it is crazy OP and non-stop mortars of death though.
Just don’t wait until you run out to refill as it will kick you out of the mortar deployment, reset your range, and move your position.
They really should auto spot Mortars after a few rounds as it really is powerful from a protected position with being very, very difficult to counter.
yep lol that explains a lot and is still confusing at the same time because i didn’t think bullets cared what gun they went into… just that they matched the caliber lol
i think they need to remove the bounds and make the spawn place you randomly along one of the 2 faces of the map on whatever side your team is spawned on… ya know so its more like your just randomly coming out of the thick of the woods when you spawn.
and while were on the subject of spawns they could really use parachute spawns for the paratroopers
I think it’s because there could be the risk of mortar spam and people would not like that alot because weapon sway would just be all over the place but yeah I kinda agree.
Spotting isn’t really an issue as the mortal firing sound is loud and easily locatable. The issue is getting to their position as often enough they are sitting outside of bounds.
The mortars seem to me to be OP, as I hate that they stay outside the limits of the map and you cannot reach them, unless you know the location and you can shoot with a plane.
Fix this because in one game, 2 were shooting non-stop and no one could conquer the point
Not that I have found; well, unless the person playing the Mortar just uses a bad position. When using a Mortar in a good position I have found it to be pretty rare to be tracked down and stopped. When under a barrage I also have found it hard to find them. I literally will fire mortars non-stop until I get bored.
I’m honestly at a loss for how you find it easy to find them. I must be doing something wrong.
If they are in a good position, you literally cannot reach them as if you get to close the out of bounds kill debuff kicks in.
Are you using a headset? Or some other kind of multidirectional sound device? If not, try it. You can use the mortar’s constant, rhythmic firing sound while rotating your character to see where it comes from.
Yeah, and my squad immediately starts destroying my ammo crates as soon as I sit down with the mortar, even if it’s away from me and not in a position where I can resupply without moving.
