There´s nothing to fix. If someone gets good kills with the mortar post nerf he knows how to use them. If they nerf them even more might aswell remove them from the game.
Good. Remove mortars. They add nothing but an extremely safe way to sit in the back and camp. They have NEVER added anything to the game that was needed.
Wah, wah, wah. Dry your eyes. How else do you suggest a player uses his mortars other than to “spam” them? Should he politely wait 30 seconds between firing each round? Hmm?
they shouldn’t have unlimited ammo, from boxes. Then there should be a timer, like for arty. And after that, you can increase its damage, so if it lands - it hurts. Right now, its spam. The low sodium type(yack!)
Personally, I think Mortars should just be given double their present ammo but be unable to resupply. And that you’d be able to take them in place of a radio operator in normal squads. That’s how I’d buff them to be useful, as they’d be something you’d have along with you to utilize while you were doing other things, to deal with things like MG nests, snipers, or the enemy wave pushing your caps you’re too far away from to reach in time.
I got under mortar attack yesterday and it isn’t as bad/dangerous as it we’re before. There are no more screen shake at all, damage radius of blast is very low. Basically you can survive hidding in trench, under the metal roof. There is small chance it will hit you directly. After a while most mortarmen stop bombing you and focus on other area of map.

Agree, there are no space left for any more mortar nerfs, they are already nerfed to maximum damage wise. If anything, they could return a bit of screen shake or make explosions louder, since now you can’t even properly notice that you’re being mortared, unless it takes out a couple of your bots. Right now those explosions looks like a pile of dust going up in the air , surpressed by other sounds in the game.
Ther is a mortar ammo bug allowing infinite ammo - it is reported already, it has nothing to do with the number of stars of the engineer (I can do it with any number of stars for hte engineer).
Not going to say what it is 'cos it doesn’t need spreading!
Wait for the appropriate time to use them instead of larping as artillery and blindly lobbing shells?
It’s like sniping out of the spawn but taken to the next level.
I see maps like the manor which are 90% indoors and these people are still lobbing mortars at something getting 1 kill before they run out of ammo.
It’s not about being effective to these people, it’s about not risking getting shot.
It’s a small map, you have 10-20 minutes - the only indications you usually have are caps changing hands, caps are natural focus points,m and you probably have some idea where the enemy is coming from - so what’s “blind” about that?
And so what?? Mortar shells are a resource - tanks a few seconds to get rid of 10 - what’s the problem with that? Clearly geting 1 kills is NOT massively effective - bit it is still a kill…
who TF are you to know the motivation of every single mortar squad user??
I’ve had “get 30-40-50 kills with mortars” as a task where I’ve ground out 1 or 2 kills in a game in order to try to get it - along with maybe a great game with 10-15 somewher in the sequence… pull your bloody head in and stop beling such a banker.
