Just unlocked the mortar squad and trying to understand how best to use these guys.
I saw that the shell landings show up on the main map, but not the minimap.
no fuck that use the ditance from the objective as poitn fo refrence
They do show on the minimap

I feel like a fortune teller.
Same situation was with “destroy balloons” mission. Maybe I have chosen wrong career path?
Anyway.
@115001054 to aim mortar you have to open the map (M key), turn on the interactive map mode (Alt) and then you can place yellow marker on the map. It will be visible to you and your teammates.
Then exit map and you can use your yellow marker to turn your mortar and set the range on it.

if anything they just need to increase the amount of ammo used to restock a mortar, like instead of it just decreasing the ammo crate by 1 when you reload a mortar it should decrease it by 2.
the only thing that screws with me is the non-changable keybind for interactive map mode… since i use alt as a toggle for controlling my mortar with WSAD which makes it impossible to use the map to track my shots while im firing the mortar
