Many players including me, have a stockpile of troop orders before they even finish a campaign, like hundreds of orders. This is likely due to the tedious academy system, we have to cycle a bunch of troops through our squads in order to get higher level ones. One way this can be solved (and IMO the best one I’ve come up with), is the option to spend more orders to receive guaranteed troops of a certain rank. The guaranteed rank soldiers should cost low enough so that the academy is still useful, but high enough so that it’s not too easy. The cost I find reasonable for random 5-star troop is 40 bronze orders, and for a specific 5-star troop, 20 silver orders. Seeing as I am nearing the later levels of the campaign I am mainly playing (level 19 currently), I think that it would be reasonable if I could get two or three 5-star soldiers from my stockpile, instead of cycling through hundreds of orders, and filling my inventory over and over.
TL;DR: Give the ability to purchase guaranteed, high-level soldiers to prevent the trooper order stockpiles.
A guaranteed 5 star troop shouldn’t cost much less than what it would cost to rank up so many of a given number of lower star soldiers, which is 81 bronze orders, or 27 silver orders. So while I think 20 silver orders would absolutely be reasonable for a 5 star, for bronze orders you’d be more looking at something like 50-60. While I’m not opposed to the idea, I do think that I don’t have a surplus of either, myself, given I’m constantly using my troop orders to try to get soldiers leveled up. I’d rather spend more bronze orders to get specific classes or selection from smaller groups of classes, than necessarily getting a higher level soldier. (or them just tweaking the numbers so I get far fewer pilots, honestly)
Except you sometimes randomly get 5 star troops by spending just 1 bronze order, personally I think a middle ground with a guaranteed max of 4 stars would be fine, the troop shouldn’t be random when you’re spending 27 bronze orders though, wouldn’t want to spend all that just to send another pilot to the rear.
An alternative system would be an option to exclude non infantry soldiers from every random bronze order, that would at least reduce the constant “send to the rear”.
seems like you have a lower chance of getting high rank troops in normandy campaign uding bronze orders too. Both my Moscow lineups are COMPLTETLY filled with rank iii and iv troops that i’ve gotten from bronze orders but the majority of my troops in Normandy are still rank ii
I’ve been using my academy non-stop for the last three weeks, virtually no stops, with premium, and still have 300 bronze troop orders I just can’t use fast enough.
I would also like something, but personally I’d just do something like 5 bronze orders gives you a silver order.
I think it would be reasonable if this system was capped at 4 stars, and 5 stars could still only be obtained through academy or gold orders, or else the latter would become redundant.
About the cost, I think that a multi-star soldier should cost NO MORE than the sum of orders it takes to create him with base drops. This would make it a fair trade, while using orders the “old” way would take more time but would still be more cost efficient thanks to random high-level drops.
