The USSR had good tanks, but I think that perhaps some more Self Propelled Guns could be welcome additions? they only have the Su-76m (premium) and Su-100 (premium), the only TT SPG they have is the Su-85, which is a higher BR vehicle.
Note: would these be good? idk, but they could be fun or interesting, for gameplay variety sake
in terms of what could be added, I don’t wanna suggest a gazillion things so imma just keep it BR I-II
- SU-5-1 (BR I or II)
I don’t really play WT but from a friend I’m fairly certain it only has so many shells of a decent 76mm cannon. I’m sure someone who played WT could tell me more about how it functions on a balance level but hey it could be good could be fun.

^ SU-5-1 from the big thunder
- Su-57 (BR II)
something to deal with long range targets since the T28s have a bit of a lob to them, we have the M1 as a buildable AT gun for the Allies already so could use the same shells (albeit with different amount of shells)

^ Su-57 from Tank Encyclopedia
- Su-76 (su-12) (BR II)
a bit of a unsure one but, since the Su-76m is already in game as a premium, how about the Su-76 (su-12)? Its the prototype version built on the t60 hull instead of the t70, so it would be very similar in layout but with different armor, perhaps less shells than the premium to make that one still desirable?

^ I BELIEVE this is the correct one, at least somewhat what it looks like although I’m not 100% what prototype this one is
I just like SPGs and wanna see the faction get some tank variety, it has been a while…
also plz share suggestions for any other ideas
- Yes, bring on the SPGs!
- No, i dont really want this…

It should be illegal to even have a no option!

I vote yes for the sentiment. But Su-5-1 would suck due to lack ammo, and the Su-76 variant don’t think is in wt.
I think the most important right now is for soviets to get SU85 for BR3 so that a dedicated tank hunter has a better time fighting BR4 German heavy armor like Panthers and Tigers.

Actually I have never considered SU122 all that much - I wonder where that one could fit in the game.
i mean typically SPGs bring stronger cannons into lower BRs, so 4 maybe since the Su-100 i think already exists in that BR
Just checked WT - its a long reload howitzer, but its heat has 160mm of pen, thats Tiger I level of firepower but with a long reload.
Su 122 doesn’t rlly work in enlisted. Too much splash and has decent armor but no mg and long reload.
It probably wouldn’t be much different to KV2
Kv2 doesn’t rlly work in its current state either.
It’s not a matter of if it should, it’s a matter of yes please add!

We could get the SU-85A at BR3. Given that the dev don’t want to add the SU-85 (SU-85M shouldn’t go down to BR3 due to its armor), this would be a great way to have a 85mm gun at BR3 for the soviets.

These tank are always welcome.
The addition of JokerPick to deal with a higher BR tank is always good.
But in the case of SU-5-1, I don’t think it’s a good idea because the ammunition load is too low with just 8 rounds, and the problem is that the Su-57 has good penetration but too low a caliber, so it’s not good for a major infantry kill.
The most ideal is that the Su-76M will also be released as a TT, but this already exists at a premium…
Su-76 is better, but the problem is that it does not exist in War Thunder in this case.
That’s a pretty important tank, too.
But I think it would be better to create a separate topic for this.
The USSR also needs a tank like Hellcat.
Considering the m10 is in br 3 and I want the hetzer to be added at br 3. Still think su85 is fine. But if not then this is a great alternative.

We could also get su-76 early with closed roof

Also su 76i as event vehicle

This thing is turretless and open top. So it is comparable to Marder3&3H and Na To which is on br2. So I think it is more suitable for br2. Not to mention the enclosed Stug3 F has also been move down to br2.
Did dev ever said this?
