Playing today with my BR1 Soviet All Bolt action rifle squads, I came down to my last man, which happened to be my Radioman. My Radioman is forced to carry two weapons, which first problem is it’s historically inaccurate. I had him decked out with a Mosin M44 Carbine as his main weapon and an M1938 as his backup. I was doing good till I ran out of my M44 ammo and switched to my M1938, which was also out of ammo since they both share the same ammo, so that was the end of that squad.
Until recently, when Gaijin added the Type 88 rifle, YOU HAD NO CHOICE as EVERY Soviet Bolt action Rifle as far as I know used the same 7.62 ammo. I didn’t take the time to observe every faction’s weapons lineup bullet caliber, but what is the point of carrying a secondary weapon if your secondary weapon uses the same ammo, and for the most part is just extra weight to carry for no purpose? Especially when Radiomen didn’t carry secondary weapons to begin with.
So, I am not going to do polling, I already have, but Gaijin either needs to allow the OPTION of carrying an ammo bag, or if they are going to stick to their HISTORICALLY INNACURATE forcing of a secondary weapon on Radiomen, then allow them to carry weapons which use the same ammo and not be penalized for it. So, instead of making me carry two bolt actions with 25 total rounds between the two, I should have 25 total for each rifles, 50 total rounds of ammo.

I don’t care if Gaijin leaves the Radiomen with a secondary weapon, however, since they did not historically carry secondary weapons, then at least give the players the option of choosing an ammo pouch instead of the secondary weapon. This way, those who like their Radiomen carrying a secondary weapon can keep them, and those who don’t can change it. It hurts no one by allowing an option.
