Let custom server host choose what is appearing on HUD screen and what isn’t,
that is: hit marks,
minimap,
hud options
maybe some others gameplay rules
etc.
through an option tab.

that’s the very point of having it hardcore.
ever heard of trigger discipline?
you’re just asking to have it less hardcore.
which again, would defeat the whole purpose in the first place.
as much as i love hardcore, and would love some much needed improvements, i don’t agree with those suggestions. nor i think is what it’s needed.
because, the idea of hardcore, is to relay less on your hud, and more on your senses. which in heated situations may lead to friendly fire ( just like real life ) ( and funny situations in a game. )
the only " gripes " that i have,
is that the compass is located in the bottom left.
when in reality, it should at the top.
a suggestion that has been made since 2 years
( which by the way, used to be in the center )
but, you shouldn’t be able to see teammates and what not.
( which, you currently are able as long they are realtively close, or, if they are in your visual )
and, hardcore makes you use the map more to seek objective and what not.
so you, stand in a corner, check the map, and act accordingly. which it’s realistic.
and i love it.
( would love an animation for pulling the map thoug… like heroes and generals. perhaps one of the only thing that H&G did right )
and, the other issue, due to nature of enlisted, being too casual and not tactical, you don’t have a way to realistically check your ammo. how many rounds you have in your rifle, or in your mag. ( as opposed to just… check a hud info )
well, true, i could live with that, i have played hardcore this way and i actually liked it whastoever, but then… no one plays it, i’d rather having it less hardcore and to have someone to play with.
i’m aware people might be discouraged by the tough gameplay conditions and this is suggestion towards this issue.
i’m saying that even less hardcore would be still hardcore for average enlisted player
well, you are technically correct,
but those people aren’t really interested to play hardcore to begin with.
which, in all honesty, it is a niche group / genre.
but, we shouldn’t water down the experience as how it was designed just to appeal people that aren’t interested to begin with.
although, now that i think about it, could be an interesting mechanic to add to customs. where hosters can decide what appears and what not through an option tab.
you know, for customs.
( IF ONLY THOSE GETS ACTUAL EFFING UPDATES AND SO MUCH NEEDED FEATURES ).
but yeah, it could be there to be tweaked.
although, not sure they will go their way to make adjustable options… so far, they aren’t keen on that…
( i think can be made through mods, but for those who just wants to play vanilla, they don’t have such options )
i’d argue on this one, people might try it out of curiosity and give up because it’s too hard and unconvinient, if it was well designed experience i think some of them might stay for longer.
true, but again, i want to point it’s enlisted, it has an arcade game reputation, even tho its officialy not (i guess)
capturing indicator is common in every other tactical hardcore game, why not in enlisted where playerbase is less likely to like it.
this is actually really great! i like it. I guess it will be actually possible anyway
again, i’m sorry.
as a full hardcore player and enjoyer ( matter of fact, i’m doing mods about it… )
TOO BAD I CAN’T FUCKING PUSLISH THEM BECAUSE PVES ARE NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED AND THE FILES ARE TOO BIG TO BE SUPPORTED ON ACTIVE SERVERS
for no reason in hell i would water down the true authentic experience that i carefully built and shaped just to get few numbers to try it.
now, granted, in my case, i thought about it and made several difficulties. so that people can chose their own.
starting from bottom, ( the easiest ) up to the hardest ( aka hardcore ).
which, as much for me it’s not relatively an issue ( although it is if you change the current hardcore layout )
it wouldn’t be one for you to have an option dedicated for hardcore.
then, if you wish to have a slighlty less hardcore experience, you should be able to do that.
but for no reason should the standard be lowered for people that aren’t interested to begin with.
they might convince you that they are, but generally, 9 cases out of 10, they are not.
especially in a playerbase like enlisted.
( and i’m probably being too nice here )
which mods and customs ( should, and sometimes can ) offers something totally different and should be separated.
if you want to appeal casuals, that’s fine. ask for options to do that.
not options to water down other’s works.
i think it’s actually better that way.
( outside the noises that still produces, which i’m somewhat against, but actually tells you if you are capturing, if it’s being contested or what so ever )
makes you stick more on the screen of visual, rather than distract your self with hud.
yeah… i hope they will do that instead.
Well, you have vaild point, i fully respect both your work and opinion.
we have an agreement then.
well, we have an agreeent, but only if you change the premise and the actual suggestion.
done, it might confuse everyone though
nah, it’s alright.

much better
then, if you could name your server, people could actually quickly describe what their game is
say vanilla hardcore
yeah… it was suggested in one of many customs games threads:
Small paragraph for the community i’ll start by saying that customs have been quite abandonded by some time, and even if you are one of those players who simply do not care nor plays customs, please, do us a favor to those who actually tries to play them and just upvote this suggestion. you can go about your day. ( begging for likes ehy? yes. at this point… ) which, yes, no one plays customs anymore. but that’s beside the point. i don’t blain people for not playing it. because customs have r…
but… we haven’t got so much beside James word:
We already told some changes for custom battles, plus we planned a lot more for them too, so maybe a lot of players find their home in new custom battles с:
which, he is mostly accurate on what he says, although, …
nothing much has been known or told since then.
yeah i did read it, i agree
i know some changes are coming.
let’s hope it would contain both yours and this suggestions
i really like custom games, hope more players gonna play them
