More Japanese clothing

More Japanese clothing
This is the costume of Japanese soldiers recreated based on historical photos and documents.
Perhaps we can make use of this as a reference.

Special note: The situation in Japan is different from that in Germany. The resources available to the Japanese are relatively scarce.
Therefore, even if the military uniforms are updated, many units still have difficulty fully implementing the changes.
In the Japanese military, there were even instances in 1945 where soldiers were still wearing the early 1937 uniforms that had been phased out.

1、The Imperial Guard Division (1937)
This is the typical uniform of the most elite Imperial Guard Division of Japan.
Among this set of clothes, we already have that particular hat.
It would be really cool if we could incorporate the entire set into our game.

2、Infantry on the Chinese battlefield (1937)
Pay attention, because this is just the beginning of the war.
The Japanese army had abundant resources, so even the ordinary soldiers had black leather shoes.

3、Infantry on the Chinese battlefield (Southern region) (1938)
Because the southern part of China is close to the tropics, the weather there is extremely hot.
So Japanese soldiers often chose to wear straw hats to stay cool, while their helmets were carried on their backs.

4、Japanese soldiers at the Soviet border (1939)
Because the border of the Soviet Union is a grassland, the sunlight is extremely intense.
Therefore, many Japanese soldiers would wear a white towel around their necks to facilitate sweating. And as you can see, the helmet he is carrying on his back is also painted in a sandy yellow color, making it more in line with the color of the grassland.

5、Japanese soldiers on the Burma front (1940)
The Japanese people have a strong preference for white.

6、Japanese soldiers on the Pacific battlefield (1942)
This Japanese soldier was wearing something like a fishing net over his combat uniform.
In fact, this is a camouflage net. The soldiers can collect tree branches on the spot to use for camouflage. Of course, there are times when it’s simply not possible to disguise oneself, or when it’s more convenient to discard the disguise and charge forward after reaching the target.

7、Japanese soldiers on the Pacific battlefield (1942)
This Japanese soldier was wearing a white tropical combat uniform and was carrying only a small amount of equipment.
Perhaps he was a security guard rather than a frontline combatant.

8、Japanese soldiers of the Iwo Jima Battle (1945)
This Japanese soldier was wearing a distinctive yellow coat, perhaps to better blend in with the color of the terrain on Iwo Jima.

9、Japanese soldiers on the Pacific battlefield (1945)
Although more suitable jungle combat gear was provided for the Japanese soldiers, Japan had already exhausted its resources. Many Japanese soldiers even had no shoes and could only make sandals out of grass and leaves.

Do you hope that the developers can refer to these pictures and add more Japanese military uniforms to our battlefield?

By the way, there are also some other clothes, and some of them are winter wear.
(Although we don’t currently have a suitable Japanese winter battlefield, it wouldn’t hurt to mention it and keep it in mind for now.)

10、Japanese soldiers on the Chinese battlefield (northern region) (1935)
This Japanese soldier was wearing a military overcoat and a woolen scarf, which would help him better withstand the severe cold of winter.

13、Japanese soldiers on the Chinese battlefield (1943)
Many Japanese soldiers preferred to wear white gloves because the gloves could effectively protect their hands from being burned by the gun barrels.

14、Japanese soldier (1945)
At the end of the war, this Japanese soldier looked like a civilian because he didn’t even have a military rank; he was just a commoner wearing a military uniform.

At least the developers know about the existence of a winter uniform for Japan.

I love their winter hats. (I can’t remember how many times I’ve posted this picture on the forum.)

The best option to add this to our game would be the Aleutian Campaign.
