More damage for pistols

I know there’s a need for balance, but guns are guns, they kill, they don’t need to empty a whole magazine to do so. I think for a good weapon-switching immersion, a reorganization of the damage of pistols and revolvers would be ideal.

During World War II, only officers, and incidentally non-commissioned officers, were issued pistols, but a soldier was not prohibited from carrying one. The most common, in my opinion, were revolvers, which were widely used.

And in the game sometimes you change weapons due to lack of ammunition and you end up dying because after spending the entire magazine in knocking down (not killing, just knocking down) someone, you look ridiculous. xD

As long as you aim for the head, using handguns at close distance can be a viable option.

But the fact is, there’s simply never a need to do so. It’s always better to just pick up any weapon off the ground, which there are plenty of.

So in the end, I found myself using handguns only for finishing off downed enemies, mainly just for to not waste ammo for my primary weapons.

Melee is kinda unreliable against downed enemies, so that’s why I prefer handguns.

Semi auto pistols are all pretty viable, you can quickly get off 2-3 shots to kill or down an enemy. But if they really needed buffing then this is how I’d do it:

•If all pistols have the same damage as upgraded smgs that fire the same cartridge then that might make sense (20% higher than minimum). But I don’t think pistols would retain that damage over a long distance so they’d only do the high damage up close and the damage would drop off faster than smgs.

Quite often the one headshot aint enough for pistols, atleast increase the headshot multiplier so it would be instant kill for pistols.

But it’s not like I shoot one by one. I always spam the button, never playing slow firing revolvers.

Im not sure but from what I remember, helmets also have that hidden dmg resistance just as body armors do, I think you can have 1 shot kills with it as long as enemy doesn’t wear one

Dunno about all helmets but GE has that one event squad helmet that decreases 90% ? of headshot dmg.

Weapons like the mosin revolver and the webly I think need a damage buff, also a bonus: reduce the mosin revolver reload from 7.2 > 6.9 it’s 7 rounds yes, but the revolvers that are six rounds reloads in half the time only makes sense to make it slightly faster to reload. All revolvers should do a minimum of 5.5 damage.

I think the way they reload is the reason, most other revolvers can eject all spent cartridges at once while with nagant its each one pushed out invidually.

But minor boost for reload, sure i guess.

could even go above 6 for all I care.
Most of them are fairly slow to fire and even slower to reload.
And they are last resort weapons anyway, unless getting “pistol kills” daily quest and even in that case id rather use any semi auto.
