Add the possibility to change the entire weaponry of the soldier to another soldier. In the picture you would drag a new MG guy to the squad place where the leveled MG guy is, switching their equipment and saving time when you dont have to manually change every single piece of equipment.
Another suggestion which has probably been made couple of times already is “Clear All” button, getting all the equipment from the soldier to the storage.
I suspect the dev’s concern might be exploits if they force the soldier to go to default kar98k as when you start out, if you upgrade some kar99k’s, you wouldnt have enough spare rifles to equip every soldier with one. So my proposal would be to have the clear all button just take off everything except the primary weapon.
Whats the issue if the soldier has no guns? Pilot and tankcrew start with only a knife and its the players own fault if he runs out of guns
I know. Personally I think the soldiers should be allowed to not carry a rifle but at the same time that might lead to logistic soldiers not comming with a default rifle anymore, or other issues. Just offering a potential alternative here, really.

This. As it would be the most convenient thing for the devs to implement without any major changes.
why would it matter if the main weapon is removed? it doesnt affect anything and if the player wants to go to battle with a knife in his hand, so be it
That would be more coding for the devs as well.
How? The tankcrew already goes to the battle with a knife only as a default
i really do feel bad for the devs but if they have to code a few extra lines to make the game better, then i think its work put to a good cause
