Can the Molotov’s contents drop not stick? Unless these molotovs are made with napalm the flammable material would fall.
I think gasoline on fire would stick to anything it coats. So no.
in moscow they are made with vodka they are special our laws do not respond to them
Let’s be scientific and do the experiment. We put a guy on some sort of post, pour gasoline on him (not napalm!!! we don’t want him to get hurt or anything!) and try to set him on fire. The gasoline should just “fall” to the ground, and because our subject is standing on the post, it should do no damage. Up for it?
I assume you mean that, if you hit an elevated surface with a Molotov, the fire would flow down from that high point and coat a larger area?
yeah if i hit a pole above a guy i want the flames to fall onto germans below. otherwise it loses value for me and why engineers start with them is beyond me.
Ah, I see, I think some people, or many people, are getting the wrong interpretation of what you mean. Yes, I do believe that if a Molotov hits a pole above an enemy, it should rain fire down upon that individual. Maybe there needs to be some improvement of liquid-based physics to help the Molotovs behave more appropriately. Perhaps right now, it takes the contact-point of where the Molotov hit, and covers all surface of that point within a 1m or 2m radius, which results in anemic performance when hitting high up on a pole where it only coats the top of the pole and the stuff that might have fallen 1-2m below would just not exist.
Very important to use clear and concise language when explaining your point of view, it can take time to develop this skill, or maybe you just had an off-day when you submitted that post. Take some time and perhaps reply to this post with a more precise description of your complaints with the Molotov. As it stands, I suspect you are right, and that the Molotovs probably don’t act realistically enough. I’ll go a step farther as something comes to mind; a Molotov that breaks on dirt, some of the flammable liquid will seep down into the Earth and be rendered useless thus the fire would not spread as much. Meanwhile, a Molotov broken on solid pavement, especially if it isn’t cracked, since the flammable liquid can only spread out and seep down uselessly, it should in theory cause larger fires I would think.
I am doubtful that this much attention to detail has been taken by Gaijin for their Molotovs, they seem to mostly be a small-radius and temporary attention-denial device for the most part, and a method of pestering tanks. I definitely think more can be done to make it more realistic, including the ability to hit a pole and having the flammable liquid splash down wildly on any unfortunate souls who may be positioned underneath. Frankly the concept of a Molotov breaking high on a pole with one or several people underneath it sounds like a nightmare for that unsuspecting person (or people).
yeah but that’s the terror of the Molotov. And in 1941 it was proven that molotovs against tanks isn’t really effective. If there was armored fighting vehicles maybe but tanks no. So right now it is a precision weapon.
remember me of of a story about a mythic experiment of some philosopher did in front of alexander the great were he claimed this exact thing and coated a young servant in pitch to show how it would fall harmlessy on the ground when set on fire.
oh didnt noticed the necroing my bad
