How do I actually install mods on the Xbox? I know that MSN can’t edit them—that’s true—but I’ve heard many times that you can at least install and play them. Is that true?
You can join mod battles launched by PC players, but cannot launch them on console.
This is because of MS/Sony, not something Darkflow can solve afaik.
Technically speaking, you do not “install” any mods. They are just additional resources that gets downloaded when you join a custom mod lobby, and they apply only to that match.
To play a mod on Xbox, you go to the Events & Custom Matches menu, and turn on Show Modded Lobby (or a similar wording) in the filter, and join any lobbies that show up to play.
Just like @dularom said, you can not launch your own lobby on a console (and MSN PC client). You can only join existing ones.
But other than not being able to make your own custom mod and unable to launch mods you want, everything else is fully available to you.

Okay, great—thanks for the detailed explanation! I’ve enabled the “Show” mod lobbies in Harken, but I’ve never seen one there before.
Ever play skyrim? Mods galore. Been false rumor for ages
Mods in Bethesda games on console work differently. They are essentially DLCs.
What have you learned
Only thing that stops mods is lazy devs
