Modern conflict kills

it’s way too easy to get kills in modern conflict, if they’re going to add it as a permanent game mode they need to reevaluate the damage system, giving people automatic weapons in a game where it’s a 3 shot kill is op. just a suggestion

and what’s the difference between that and the rest of the game since most guns in the base game is either a 1 shot or 2 shot to down?

That damage is representative of weapons they are using, but it completely ignores the fact that all soldiers wear body armor. As a result for me TTK felt off.

Fire rate, accuracy, and magazine size. There is a big difference between a 5 shot mag and 60 rounds per minute versus a 30 shot mag and 500. The weapons in the normal campaigns that approach that sort of damage output don’t have enough accuracy to hit reliably outside of short range, or have enough recoil that staying on target through sustained fire is largely impossible.

I think the solution is to model the effect of armor. I’d rather see that instead of an artificial reduction to damage.

They already have that mechanic for helmets and rare Soviet steel chest plates so it shouldn’t require much work to implement. Modern armor should be significantly more effective, though. At least +1 hit for intermediate rifle ammo, maybe even +1 hit for full rifle rounds (definitely at longer range).

Personally, I think if they are going to make it permanent as like a custom matches option, it should be no changes (unless for bug fixes if caused by new content). They shouldn’t focus too much on this event, nor should they make it a campaign any time soon. There focus should be on fleshing out current campaigns, then finishing WW2.

then there is weapons like garand, m1 carbine, m2 carbine, fg42, g43, STG, mp40, almost every single LMG, sten, ect ect

Enlisted stay true for it’s damage system by cartridge size regardless the rpm. I think, the gun in the event have the same damage as other intermediate cartridge, just like MP43 (they 3-4 shot kill too).

This will be the best. I can see the armor already working as you can see some spark if you shoot certain place. Should be more effective

more accurately as much damage as all non full powered rifle rounds

People die fast when they get shot as it should be. This game will (is?) Become too much like battlefield or CoD if we extend time to kill.

i hope never

I keep seeing people saying this, but I want to know: Why?

The gamemode itself was put together from premade assets from Cuisine Royale and War Thunder, people are asking (including me) to allow a filter in Custom Game to allow this event to play as it did, no changes, no rewards. Why do you care so much to have it removed when you could just not play it?

Because sooner or later MW players will demand to develope their MW mode. They will be most likely new players, who won’t even know that mere existence of this mode is heavily opposed by a meaningful part of the community.
And if devs see they can make money out of it, they will develop it. Thus it will cause splitting devs’ resources between WW2 and MW parts of the game. And we don’t want that, or at least I don’t want that.

Click here to see the "worst case scenarios"!
  • MW players that demanded developing their gamemode, will leave the game when they find a new toy to play with. Thus development time of enlisted will be wasted.

  • MW players will develop their gamemode into (for example) more CoD-like game via their suggestions.
After some time, they will migrate to WW2 part of the game to find something different. Then they might make suggestions to make WW2 more CoD like as well. We don’t want that either.

Even if they won’t make game CoD-like etc., games about modern warfare are very different from ww2 games. WW2 is more staric, unless you make a game that has only a “WW2 skin” (like BFV or some of the recent Enlisted uptates). In MW everybody has a weapon that was basically a pre-nerf LMG in Enlisted. In WW2 most soldiers had BA rifles.

One unwanted kid (LF mode) is more than enough… we already know how these adventures into territory with way more competition end up…

I wanted to mention LF but I decidet to not flame more than it’s necesarry.
So thanks for doing it for me. I’m flaming in white gloves :upside_down_face:

I think you’re overthinking it. Yes, this is a possibility, but it’s a worse case scenario. Literally all i’m asking for is the ability to play the mode just for fun. If you look at other threads on this, a similar sentiment is shared. I, of course, would rather them finish WW2, they could have the most fleshed out WW2 game ever. Chances are I might barely play the MW mode, but it’s there if I want a different change of pace.

My intention really wasn´t flaming, but I just couldn´t resist mentioning troubled past of LF as warning what might happen again.
But I must admit, that I find it kind of funny that we might see the same kind of fiasco for the second time…

If it stays as some kind of rare for a fun event, I´m all for it. There is also a possibility for devs to create more out of usual flavour modes and use them as options in custom lobbies only…
My guess is, that if there would ever be a possibility for players to adjust content for custom lobbies (including manipulating with weapon skins/maps) like in WT, players will do it instead of them anyway.

Life isn’t simple m8, even though I’d like to. There is no such a thing as “overthinking”.
I’d rather say that there are more scenarios and variables that I didn’t concider. So it’s actually “underthought”.

Enlisted started as an evnt. Don’t underestimate “just for fun” things, especially if they can generate profit.

Well, of course they’ll eventually add different wars, I would hope after completing WW2, as i’ve said before. Maybe the player feedback on it was what they were testing? People have asked for different cold war conflicts, alongside WW1 or any conflict in between. I see this is like the April Fool’s Day stuff in War Thunder. Something different that tests some things and/or gauges player feedback. There will most likely be more of these, so that’s why I’d like this (alongside any future ones) as a toggleable thing in Custom Matches.

For a modern setting with body armor it would have to be implemented realistically to not feel like another arcade game and doing so would increase the ttk. For a modern setting I wouldn’t want the ttk to be artificially lowered but the difference should be caused by armor with proper hit boxes not by magically reducing damage output of weapons.

Personally I prefer low ttk in fps games so the world wars is a better time period for me. Not really interested in seeing modern combat as a campaign in this game, game developers always screw up implementing body armor anyway.
