[MOD] Iron Front: World War One (25v25)

IRONT FRONT WW1 TITLE
What is Iron Front: WW1?
I figured I should actually make a forum post, so people have somewhere to reach out to me. Iron Front is the latest and probably final iteration of my foray into making a WW1 themed mod. I say probably final, because I plan to update the mod frequently. It’s half inspired by semi-tactical shooters like Red Orchestra 2, and half my own creation. There is a large emphasis on building bunkers, sandbags, machine guns, field guns and buildable trench mortars. Most importantly, DIGGING! That’s right, the shovel now digs SIGNIFICANTLY faster, and is actually worth holding in your hands.

What are some key features??

  • Custom profiles, of course, and in most cases custom uniforms.
  • Squad sizes are deliberately quite small, to make your life feel like it’s worth protecting.
  • Custom artillery, including white phosphorus (dual incendiary and smoke effect), gas attacks, and if you’re playing as Austro-Hungary or Germany you can even call in Zeppelins!
  • Increased lethality of weapons. I’m a strong believer that if you shoot someone they should probably die.
  • WW1-era tanks! and boy are they tough to kill. They’ve been modified so that your team can spawn inside your tank, acting as a mobile spawn point. Your tank can end up the cruz to your team’s victory (if you don’t drive over a mine!)

What types of soldier can I play?
When spawning, you’ll have a few options. Some will be immediately available to you, but not all of them. This is because the soldiers must be purchased with points, and are costed depending on their Tier.

  • Tier 0 soldiers cost nothing.
  • Tier 1 soldiers cost 600 points.
  • Tier 2 soldiers are 1200 points.
  • Tier 3 soldiers are 2400 points.

If you purchase a squad, every subsequent purchase of it will be half price, so don’t stress too much if your fancy new machinegunner gets blown away in an artillery strike.

Someone unique is the radioman, who can call in all kinds of artillery. The higher tier your radioman, the more options and the higher calibre the weapons you can call in. This ranges from a salvo of 6 rounds from 75mm Regimental artillery guns, all the way to 150mm Divisional artillery guns. Included in there are chemical weapons, air strikes and white phosphorus strikes as previously mentioned.

Most soldiers come armed with a shovel, with some exceptions like the Russian Empire’s cavalry troops, and the officers, who wield swords and sabres. Digging becomes an important aspect of the game, due to the high lethality of the weapons, and the threat a single machine gun can pose to your team. If you can’t find any cover it’s worth digging your own!

Awesome work, tiny typo here btw (which might cause confusion to translator-users)
