Missing Experience from Engineer Structures

Quick fix for the game:

a) Sandbags give points when absorbing bullets, but not when exploding from bombs.
they obviously need to always give points when preventing enemy damage like explosions, flamer attacks etc., especially since bombs create much more damage than random bullets

b) tank blockers need to yield experience and engineer points the same way as sandbags, since most often they are much better at preventing enemy damage than sandbags:
against explosions, against ongoing tank shelling, against HMG.
currently they are the only engineer structure that doesnt create any experience at all.

many, especially younger players from games like fortnite, tf2 and minecraft love the engineer aspect of the game. give them their dopamine spikes for their construction work and they will like and stay with enlisted!

On top of this
PLEASE add the number of rally point builded and allied spawned on them in the player stats

Same goes for built barb wires blocking team mates from defending the objective. Should take away massive amount of exp.

Sounds pretty good. Engineers should get more credit for their work. Good engineer work can make the difference between winning and losing.

But what about the other side of the argument. What about destroying enemy structures. Removing barbed wire in windows or doorways that allows allies into the objective should be rewarded as well.

yes sure, but thats already a thing; you get EXP when you destroy enemy build stuff. in case its not there for blowing up barb etc with tanks, it needs to be added too.

a simple little overhaul for much greater quality of the game.

My buddies and I came to this game upon seeing an advertisement or clip of some kind showing how dynamic the battles could be because of fortification through engineers.
For a while it seemed like it was a good fit, and only needed some light changes to make it a really good system. HOWEVER, as time has gone on, and changes were made both announced and ones lacking patch notes, good engineering and fortification has completely fallen to the wayside.

If it blocks damage of any type, it should be giving points. That simple. My problems with them right now is

  1. They break far too easily. Explosions and HMGs destroy them instantly. Not only that, but despite requiring an engineer time and limited resources to build, ANY infantry is allowed to simply walk up and deconstruct it. So it no longer is a barrier against incoming infantry.

  2. They removed the ability to stack sandbag walls, and they still haven’t introduced buildable windowed sandbags. So not only is there an extreme lack of available cover to build, but trying to set up an MG nest that isn’t extremely exposed is nearly impossible.

Tank blockers are exactly that. They are meant to block tanks. They are NOT meant to be placed indoors or to block damage.
However, because of the complete incompetency of sandbag walls, most players have resorted to blocking things with these instead.

Personally, I don’t think you should get points blocking damage with them. Rather, you should get points for enemy vehicles passing within close proximity to them. The PROPER use for them is not even to block a path entirely, but to narrow down the path so that an AT mine can be utilized effectively.

The issue again arises that any soldier regardless of class or equipment is simply allowed to break them down. On top of that, defenders are not given any time or advanced map knowledge (where all the objectives are going to be, so they can plan ahead) in order to make use of Czech Hedgehogs, or really ANY fortification.
This is where I think the biggest downfall of the game is currently.

Its not even just younger players from those games that really enjoy the engineer aspect of the game. Its a lot of us older players that enjoy adding strategy to the game in order to alter the outcome that otherwise may be unbeatable.

If the engineering were to become much more valid within the game and wasn’t so easily overcome by the devs catering to run-and-gun players, the entire game would be a whole lot more interesting, and much less of repeat scenarios caused by an absolute lack of any fortification at all.

A lot of players that do this are doing it for one of two reasons.

  1. They are in panic mode trying to set up as fast as they can because the enemy is coming and they didn’t have any chance in advance to fortify, now they are putting it in every window they see.
  • This can be remedied a lot by giving defenders knowledge of ALL objectives for that game, so the engineer mains can fall back and build up in advance.
  1. I’ve seen this issue increase a lot due to the introduction of paratroopers. It’s not that they are trying to keep their own team out, but they are trying to hold off the paratroopers ( and other troops because of the OP paratrooper rally point) coming from that direction as well.
  • Major solution here is to remove the option to build rally points from the paratroopers. Its FAR too strong. Beyond that placing AP mines around the back is enough to counter at least a few paratroopers.

tankblockers werent used only to block tanks irl. they were universally designed to withstand high pressure and used in other ways too.
keyboard warriors constantly surprise me with how uncreative they are and topping it off with their ignorance to assume people in real wars dont come up with smart ideas to survive.
not addressing you, just people on the internet in general.

They were also used to control an area against infantry as irl they were very difficult to break down without the correct tools, but never indoors.

because for indoors they had cheaper blockage systems. this games doesnt have them so tankblockers are the best substitute. as i already said, less limitation, more creativity.
