in my experience I feel like they stay until the same soldier that places them replaces it. I havent noticed them being destroyed by artillery really, unless maybe if it is a direct hit.
You can place unlimited ammount of mines after you respawn, even with the same squad that put them down previously.
But they are easily destroyed by almost everything: artillery, mortar, bombs etc.
A mine can be spotted.
They have a small visual marker.
And they can be shot to get destroyed.
Most ppl oversee mines and I use them a lot. But they are not very powerful in my opinion.
At the moment it seems that you can kill only wounded soldiers. I had it often that ppl run through my mine and walked away after explosion.
And If I killed something with it, it was only one person. That is cool, but not powerful.
Mines get destroyed by grenades, arty or plane bombs, which happens quite often.
With 3 bronze tickets they are quite expensive.
All those points in sum make me feel that the “problem” is more in theory than in reality.
Time will tell if you were right.
Anti-tank mines are fine, please let them be. They already work very rarely, they get destroyed by arty or plane bombs to fast, but sometimes they completely obliterate unlucky tanks. Useful tool to stop cheeky enemy tanks which often just drive into objective or our spawm and create chaos. Anti-infantry mines are also fine, they are hit or miss, most of time i don’t get the kill, probably need to invest more time to master placement.
P.S. Maybe someone know if the squad who placed mines has died, does planted mines automatically dissapear with them or do they stay?
They stay. But sadly you recive no points for the kills they make (same like with plane bombs that explode after you crash) - you only get satisfaction if you notice mine explosion on the killfeed or a tank being wrecked by one.
Mines are pretty expensive at 3 bronze each …
It’s situational, but I find AP mines rather useful… In LF.
Ppl in that mode are more cautious and hidden snipers are plenty in that mode. When playing such a class, I often like to get to the top floor of a building and leave a lil gift near the staircase. It doesn’t matter much if it fails to kill would be backstabbers on the spot, the sound it makes when detonating is just the perfect alarm bell for me, thus giving me time to defend myself.
So… yes, to counter sneaky scum like me, a special ability to spot might be useful? As of now they are a bit rare on the field, though.
Mines are useless due to bombs and arty bruh
Anti Infantry Mines not that great still, can be destroyed by ppl throwing nades inside. I only been killed a few times because of those. never had a issue
Theres also a bug with mines, where even if you kill the enemy. It will say the Enemy Killed them, and does not credit you the kill
It’s pretty much the function I use AP mines for: not to kill, but to cover my rear in the less hectic LF mode. Also if someone tries to clear it with grenades or gunfire… I will still get aware of his presence. So they ARE useful, albeit very situational.
The downside of running them is it also makes your soldier much more heavier, as a result you can only run as far and will makes your soldier tires out more easily. I just go with no mines that allows me to cap points much easier
I usually just walk over mines and they rarely even detonate
I use them in doorways to protect objectives… sometimes get 4 kills for 1.
AT mines are super effective on Normandie German side because tanks have very few places they can traverse.
They’ll only ever be an issue if they address the problems with arty and bomber spam…
Yeap , it will be an issue only if they fix game breaking mechanisms, if the game is not fun or too grindy , people will go away.
Unfortunately i’m pretty sure people are leaving like crazy already .
