This is not about some fantasy - but about the possibility of attaching scopes to certain MG models. Maybe it could be the capabilities of engineer MGs, maybe premium weapons, maybe as a separate category - this is just a matter of discussion. Such scoped MGs would improve their capabilities, say, as AA weapons and also in maps where distance is needed for defense.
While German MGZ34 Optical Sight was intended for use with the MG34 and later the MG42 machine gun, whilst mounted on a Lafette tripod in a heavy machine gun mode, I am talking here more on a scoped versions for a single weapon itself.
I remind that we already have several examples in the game, such as the Japanese Type 97 LMG.
Attaching a period photo, with an MG-34 together with a Soviet PE scope just for fast reference:
Another option is to mount the scope only in the prone position when the MG is mounted on a bipod. (also - like I mentioned, maybe only on some of the models, not all)
Well, since we’re talking about machine guns with optics, here’s a Soviet machine gund with optics) The experimental DP with an optical sight.
And also a DT with an optical sight.
It’s not clear how you describe the “fake factor” of this photo because the arguments of people who write in capital letters are very unclear. If you mean that this is a staged photo for propaganda - so be it, then as I wrote it is a “reference” to my proposed subject. Is it clearer now?
This photo is published in the book f Der Ăśberfall, and several reputable WWII photo archives too. (in this particular case it is just poorly colorised)
Your “fancy” explanation & your “reputable” archives are—how should I say this—complete and utter nonsense. It’s a FAKE photo! Somebody laid an outline of a person and his weapon on top of another photo. Seriously, you can’t see that? Look at the guys right forearm. It’s not laying on the ground, it’s hovering above it. And the ground below his right forearm is a different color than the ground to the left of it. And finally—here’s the big one—the photo in the background is in black and white, and the photo of the guy and his weapon is in color.
Be so kind and maybe you can leave here without polluting my topic with your barking at the wrong place and time.
You obviously didn’t even read what was written, that the photo is poorly colorized, the original photograph is black and white. I told you the sources, and explained to you like a small child the purpose of such a photograph.
You came and started barking your nonsense without even reading what the essence of the topic is. Get out of here
