Can the tank’s mg count toward the MG battle task? Plz its a machine gun it should count but i’ve killed 3 people with the 12.7mm mg from my jumbo but they didn’t count towards task.
If that’s so, that’s pretty crummy. I believe it should count whether it’s your tank-mounted M2 or a mounted MG42 in the field, or the MG that follows the aim of the tank.
only the mg my gunners carry and mgs in the map count toward the task. Not even the machine guns in my A-20 count.
Love the A20, I wish there was a better way of judging where we’re dropping those lovely big freedom seeds, but I seem to have the nack. Anyhow, yeah, hopefully they change that. Aircraft MG, tank MG, gunner’s MG, fixed MG in the field… I think it should all count towards that somewhat annoying task. I don’t use machine guns all that much.
yeah i am just sitting here grinding it out for Battlepass using my MG squad.
the mg task and pistol kill tasks are so annoying.
MG tasks are very easy if you have the MG squad, the premium MG squad, and a couple of MG’s in other squads.
Pistols less so - I skip them every time.
I imagine so. I have the MG squad, and an MG in one or two other squads, but my play style leans more towards sniping and reconnaissance rather than machine gun fire. There are times, and indeed in certain circumstances, an MG set up in the right place and the right time can be hugely beneficial. Other times, you end up getting killed within your first mag or two, or at other times before you even get off a single shot because you can’t spot the enemy but they (probably one of their snipers) manage to spot you.
When it goes well, though… it’s awesome. I remember one time in particular on the D-Day map, last position, my gunner was probably the last of my squad in the vicious fighting. I go prone in a building, VERY near the enemy, not many allies nearby, and I set it up looking through a gap between the left of the doorframe, with the right side of my view obscured by the side of a building I think, and in the decent sliver I could peer through was one side of a windmill. A bunch of enemy ended up coming by, a couple squads I’m pretty sure, and with my BREN I mowed them down with absolute ease. None of them could spot me and I had them down in a mag or two, maybe one and a half, several bursts. A part of me was tempted to go forward but I figured I’d just get shot down, I remained, kept alert for more, and then an allied squad or two passed me by and took the lighthouse as I covered that sliver. Pretty sure I moved ahead, probably either got shot entering the lighthouse or got into the lighthouse and was shot after getting a few shots off at enemies. But yeah… that felt good, thinking I was all alone but then they show up just after I clear the place and they can move forward without harassment. THAT is some good utilization of a machinegun, and I love that BREN LMG. The Czechs really did a bang-up job in the 1920s with that platform, vZ.28 or something like that? Lovely… Ian of Forgotten Weapons loves the BREN, prefers it over the M1918A2 BAR.
only have my mg squad which is why i wish all MGs counted.
now riddle me this. I just finished and at the last 10. i injured a guy enough to get the kill when an allied tank buzzed him with the mg and it counted but my tank mg doesn’t count.
Yep - whoever gets the first “red cross” hit on a target gets the kill credit - whoever actually kills with the next hit gets an assist - that is how the scoring works.
yeah but it counted towards the task but my tank mg kills didn’t.
So when you got the ‘red cross’ on the enemy, did you get it by using an MG? If so, then perhaps the ‘red cross’ remembers the weapon/method by which they got almost mortally injured so regardless of the way they die afterwards, it still is registered as the means by which the earlier ‘red cross’ was achieved.
Yes - that seems to be how it works - it remembers the weapon.
Figuring out the mystery of this game, piece by piece.
It actually made me change my mind on a premium tank squad purchases in the campaign. I have 1 premium vehicle squad in the Moscow campaign, much better value than infantry squads.
I completely agree, I just wish I had noticed earlier, I missed completing flamethrower task. The discount that came with event changed my mind about the machine-gunner squad packs.
Waiting for Tunisia!!
