MG classification

thanks to @CaptainSebekel for the work

I want to ask darkflow to add a MG classification in the weapon statistics, so to help player to understand the difference between the different type
(this also applies to other weapons like assault rifle or carabine wrong classified)

MG classification example
the (?) stands for MG in the middle between being light and medium

Battle rifle:

  • BARs
  • FG42
  • Chauchat

Light machine gun:

  • MG13
  • MG26/ ZB
  • Bren
  • Vickers
  • Madsen
  • MG30(?)
  • Breda 30
  • DP-27(?)
  • DT-29(?)
  • DPM(?)

General-purpose/medium machine gun:

  • M1919
  • MG34
  • MG42

I would have added DP-27, DT-29 and DPM as general-purpose MGs like MG-34 and others. They are very alike but with a little different gameplay.

To be GPMG/MediumMG you have to be belt fed

Then it’s only M1919

MG34 and MG42 are also belt fed.

Only the RP-46 which is a post war modification of the DPM is the closest thing the Soviets have for a GPMG despite its not officially one(PK machine gun is the Soviet GPMG but not out until the 60s). Not covering war period so doesn’t count for WWII.

DT-29 is an MG meant for tanks but they designed it to be able to be used when needed to evacuate from the tank thus came with a bipod accessory. DP-27 and DPM are only LMGs for Soviets since the belt fed role goes to the Maxim and SG-43 HMGs.

To be honest this would be nice too have in game as some of the weapons are incorrectly classed <3
