pistols are fired unsupported and have super short barrels, so I would hope so.

What if I tell you it’s only because pistols have no zoom?
Have you even fired a pistol in real life? Anything over 20m is extremely hard to hit. Pistols are for close range so this is the way the spread should be.

If it’s a compromise to compensate the lack of shooter-induced inaccuracy, IMO it’s acceptable. As others said, it’s very hard to hit accurately with a handgun beyond 20-25m.
