I knew from the first few minutes of the match that the win or loss of this game was extremely imbalanced between the two sides
That’s nothing incommon in multiplayer games like this but tbh, overalI I had more interesting (sometimes still pretty frustrating) matches since merge.
I’ve been playing enlisted since week 2 of the open beta, I’m completely pro merge and I know devs care about this game, there have been isues before that many people saw as the end of enlisted and the devs fixed them.
That said, it is ovious the recent changes have many problems, so hoping to help I’ve made a list of the main Issues the comunity has plus some that I dont see mentioned but I think they are important.
UI and info clutter: The simplistic UI was enough when there was less info on the main menu, but with the adition of more and more information and more squads it has become a bit of a mess, I feel it is now more apparent with the new changes and we will get used to it in some time, still it is very important tho have distinctive buttons and tabs for each ting. Also having grey buttons on a grey background doesnt help
Dumping all squads in one menu: Having 51 squads (as i have now) to choose from it's not very efficient, specially if we account for the repeat squads of each campaing (I have 3 different assaulter 1 squads from Moscow, Berlin and Stalingrad) adding to it the difficulty of distinguishing wich is wich. Filtering helps but a lack of ditinctive naming or marks makes it very confusing to sort. Also a strip all equipment from a squad button would help inmensely.
Br and balancing: It needs to be more clear wich br are you going to play in and why, there sould be at least a number on the START button showing it and maybe if you hover over it it tels you why (X soldier has Y weapon with a br of Z). Also having br displayed in ieach soldier stat card would be nice.
Balancing is an aded thing now, the clearest example is the lack of US tanks that have any chance against king tigers and such.
- Research and silver: The fact that you dropped the merge without almost no previous notice was a bad move, it didnt affect me personaly but many people are rightfully pissed, some compensation would be nice. Moving to the research tree, many people say its the same as war thunder’s, This is not necesarily bad but it has a horible inhereted mechanic, the fact that you have to buy a weapon after researching it, it has no buisness being here and I personally despise it, before the merge if you unlocked a new squad with a new weapon it eve gave it one for free included in the squad, it is a usless mechanic only meant to squeeze more out of the players.
I see the need to have previous tiers researched kind of necesary, but I would have done it diferntly (I of course have no experience in game development, it is my opinion) maybe having a penalty for asimetric research could be better.
- Soldier skills: The new sistem is greatly better than the old one, the only gripe I have is the fact that we werent able to discard unwanted perks for free at least once, as many soldiers still mantained random unwanted perks from before the merge.
Finally I am not very aware with the premium squads mess so I cant give an opinion
In conclusion it seems as if the launch was rushed nad not thougt trough enough, I didn’t participate in the test servers event but many of these things should have been solved there. I can imagine This was lots of work, and people are always scared of changes but it is obious the lack of flexibility the other sistem had, and I’m positive the devs will fix the issues now present
