Medic Overhaul Ideas

Medics are the single most underpowered squad in game lets solve this

medics should automatically seek out other wounded soldiers and heal them at the bare minimum this should become their primary objective this would be a good fix and let players dedicating to the squad or slot get good use of the choice

Additional ai tweaks
ai should seek out med boxes passively when they lose medkits
medic ai should also attempt to help downed soldiers as a major priority

medic kit overhaul

med pouch
a simple change medics should carry 5 medkits by default like guerrillas carry tnt

the syringe
should become an equipped item with a radial wheel like the hammer allowing you to pick from a few options as the current press button to heal is clunky as ai move speradicly and players move even more making medics play a game of cat and mouse for 15 points the new medical injections are as follows

Adrenaline
providing a small speed boost and stamina cap boost for a short duration

Morphine
begins a steady hp regen and minor damage reduction for short time

Anesthetic
reduces concussion effects and received melee damage and increasing down odds

Penicillin
weaker jack of all offering minor buffs to hp/stam regen and movement speed

Main Overhaul
Revival
a staple medic trait in many fps games that with enlisted’s chaotic flow wouldn’t be outta place

when a soldier dies of a body shot or any non explosive/headshot/dismemberment death the medic can expend roughly 25 percent of his supplies to revive the soldier leaving them at low stamina and health there would be a 10 second countdown from death which is not able to be stopped accept for pausing when actively reviving forcing the medic to act fast and preventing an entire squad from being revived rewarding trained eyes for picking out key members of a squad to save as reviving would scale with the healing speed at its shortest taking 4 seconds and longest being 10 seconds

medbox change
medboxes allow medics to restock supplies 1 time per box destroying it and forcing you to choose immediate care or passive supplies

Just give them big ammo pouch and engineers. That’s the only way how to make them viable. Everything else are just gimmicks that doesn’t matter.

I rarely heart an Adamnpee comment, but this is correct.

just making them the same thing with a weird niech isnt a good fix instead make them a real support

It fits better than all changes or only some, please use it next time for big suggestions

Will do still learning forum etiquette apologies for any confusion

The problem is. You don’t really need any support. It’s simply not worthy in this game.

Those syringes would have to be many times more effective than perks to be relevant.

Revival mechanic is definitely something that’s completely unnecessary in this game. You already have a whole squad of bots that serve as a quick respawn.

when ypur only flamer dies or radio guy having a freindly medic save them would be nice support gameplay is lacking in enlisted and its not impossible to add

full post set up hopefully its correctly assembled and this provides good feed back for buffing the single worst class in game

Doctors are a pleasant and distinctive class, in some cases they allow you to earn a lot.
The idea of a revival is interesting, and it might make doctors in demand in any setup across the br, without even needing an engineer or what people are missing.
I like the theme, I wish there were more of them.

first part is entirely against the mo of the class medics are not assaulters there job is never to be first into the fray getting the kills they are the definition of support engineers would be a good addition to the tech tree meds that does have merit

your guardian angel giving your targeted specialists that single extra chance to do more than run into the point and get clipped cause there heavy gear slowed them down and someone got a lucky hit

  • Yes engineers for tt medics
  • No engineers for tt medics

In this game, they definitely are. They literally replaced role of assaulters I that are now legacy soldiers.

Btw. I’m not strictly against anything you’ve suggested. I just think it’s all just gimmicks that wouldn’t have a big impact on the actual game.

Good for LARPers, but it wouldn’t significantly increase the effectiveness of medics.

More ammo + the ability to build base structures. That would put medics on par with other relevant squads.

Stupid decision

engineers yes fully agree should be base kit medics are tt tho in all factions they should not have extra ammo as its againt there design of defensive/support role role the added supportive actions would hopefuly inspire selfless medics to helicoter parrent there teamates bots keeping more guys alive and trying to save a few that fall

I think these 3 changes are reasonable and would provide the needed utility to make Medics a decent soldier type.

  1. Add a new Medic squad upgrade that adds +4 Med Kit charges, similar to the Guerillas TNT.

  2. Allow you to order medics in your squad to heal an injured teammate with the context command.

  3. Allow AI soldiers to move a small distance (maybe up to 10 meters?) to a nearby Medkits box to refill any missing Medkits. They can only do this if they are not actively in combat or have orders to do something else. Perhaps this could work for ammo boxes too.

I believe that AI medics already move a small distance toward injured allies and attempt to heal them, but it’s very inconsistent. I think if they actually sprinted towards their target instead of just slowly walking that would help. They could also make them kneel or go prone while healing. Maybe they already do, but I never see it happen.

yes they will heal sometimes when next to wounded but they heavily prioritze moving around and trying to gaurd you even when set to wide angle

as an extensive medic user ( both low and high br ).

they already do that.

Agreed

while i’m not opposed,
it would kinda only make them exceptional sturm assault units.

no…
none of this.

i hate magical effects in a semi realistic ww2 game.
i know X or Y.

but none of that.

on the other hand, i would very much love the ability to replenish my syringes when they run out at the epxense of a medkit from a medic crate.

( does really no one ever run out of syringes? cause i do all the time before my medic dies. and no. that doesn’t mean campaing in a side of the objective. but actively targeting opponents while taking a look at friendlys )

Against that too.

but i’d be in favor of adding an ambulance that much like coh, allows to either ( faster respawn for allies ) or gives back tickets to the attackers ( if you are an attacker ).

alternatively, if the squad is still alive, you could use that ambulance to revive dead comrades.

( but knowking spaghetti code… could be harder to implement )

not sure what i mean
but giving passive medkits to soldiers that passes by.

i don’t see why not.

i would also let medics use Semi auto rifles.

maybe SF rifles too.
but i’m a bit… mixed about it. ( on those lasts )

Above all, they should ditch the 5 specialist approach and make a fully fledged squads with other specialists like the rest.

id say to be equal to a machinegunner or AT squad in terms of numbers and specialists.

so you have 3 of the main class with other additions.

Its funny how they don’t have specialist roles…
