I’ve been trying to think of and express ideas on what would give some type of nutural ground between balance and the immersion this game had before the merge from the campaign system. And I’ve been rather shut down by people following me around but I won’t name anyone. But I have at least one more but hopefully simple idea. For the early war maps give an option to use the high tier weapons that were at first available on all battles in their front. However the trick is in limiting those weapons all in total to 2 per squad. Making it to where you can have those weapons at your disposal but if the 2 soldiers with those weapons die, then you’d have to risk getting shot in the process of trying picking them up from your corpses. If this doesn’t give middle ground then I don’t know what will.
I propose the same thing, but with a more flexible approach. Sometimes even two weapons will be too much, but I would still like to take at least one piece of historically justified weapon’s.
Only give up historical weapons that will actually disturb the balance, fedorov is more historically closer in Moscow than in Berlin, but even a single piece and a good player will destroy the balance.
I actually understand where you come from. However I am gonna say that someone who has 2 of such weaponry can easily be countered by a well placed artillery, an HE shot, grenade launcher, or even frags and molotovs.
I’d say the smgs and select fire rifles that were available in all time periods would be at 2 combined per squad (meaning you’d have to pick between rather 2 smg or 1 SF rifle and 1 smg) and then with weapons like the fedorov and mkb will be limited to 1 per squad regardless.
