The japanese DO NOT Have a tank which can kill it, Leading to grayzone camping ones which can easily pen japanese tanks, It is NOT remotely fair, I had a game where one guy grayzone camped and killed 6 tanks, 150 inf and only lost tanks due to bombs, which were very limited due to how slow the japanese attacker is.
Matilda is the slowest tank in the game - bombing is a 100 % sure way to kill this tank.
If attacker plane is too slow then use a fighter plane (A6M3 or Ki-61-I Hei).

their are ways to counter it as infantry like destroying one of the Matilda’s track and rushing it with explosive packs

Your starting your topic off already wrong, the Japanese have 2 to 3 late war tanks that are easily capable of destroying the Matilda. Like Wieloglow said, use CAS to destroy it instead of trying to get it removed from a “campaign”
