Since the last ‘update’ matchmaking has again become atrocious. New lvl players against veterans, teams filled with paratroopers vs ppl who barely have the first 4 teams. Sometimes 1 team has half of the other. EU servers filled with asian players (all gold stars ^^) with causes huge lags - and they dont speak English so no communication possible. 9/10 matches are just over before they start, incredibly boring for both sides.
I know this should all be over with the new update but how long will that take? Why not fix this now, since this has been a reported issue for many many times now.
This is a playerbase issue so there isnt much they can do about it unless they stop allowing players to choose their own side to play.
No amount of MM trickery could make fair fights if one side has for example 400 ppl queuing during 1 hour vs just barely 100 for the opponent.
This just causes the verteran from the less populated side to change campaign and the less populated side is stuck with new players that do not know how bad their own side is suffering.
The new update should make avoiding bad matchups harder so it might become a non issue or infest the entire game with unbalance if people start avoinding the entire factions instead.
BR system is always going to have certain BR ranges that favor a certain faction just like what’s seen in War Thunder where the King Tiger’s BR is a sweet for Germany but not other for nations.
well, indeed there is . they can give a 200% extra xp bonus to people for join any faction, for example. that amount of extra xp would really push a good chunk of people to join any side.
of course, it would mean the grind could become not so harsh, and even become slightly acceptable for F2P and new players (if there is any at this point), which seems to be a huge NONONONO in their books.
Gaijin always care more about que speed instead que quality that’s why it’s the issue with current Enlisted and most likely future Enlisted, Merge with MM going to be just a soft rule not hard rule.
I no longer expect anything this year tbh i just gave up on being excited while every time we see news it’s get delayed further and further. Those marathon events are getting old if you are mostly playing with underpowered stuff + bot team vs overpowered top tier gear + tryhards or against bot teams with your high end gear it’s get stomped or stomp over enemies nothing in between. Merge see ya in 2024 and happy new year.
I don’t think you understand how little established players care about bonus non-transferable XP. Hell, half the time I can’t make myself care about the boosters you currently get and just play whatever campaign I feel like.
We need real carrots or real sticks to get people to stop spamming PvE. But that might get problematic since the stackers also seem to love to spend spend spend. (Seriously, did self harm and played the loosing side of turbostacked campaigns for a whole evening and the amount of paid squads was a bit hilarious) you really think those people will care about some silly booster?
nope, not those, nop. but new players (if there is any of those), f2p, light spenders and generally people in need of orders/silver coins would, cause resources are really, really scarce for those players. i sure could use more of any of those resources.
hell, in the test server i bought and upgraded 3 johnson lmgs and spent around a hundred silver weapon orders equivalent.
what matchmaking? there is no matchmaking in this game.
this has been the case since start of the game. you can expect better situation on merge when they will actually have some matchmaking.
and you can do nothing about it. they need their own asian server, but DF doesnt want it cause it would increase server cost, wouldnt bring much of extra income and would be mostly empty.
even with people who speak english communication is almost impossible. console players dont see chat and lots of other players dont even bother to reply or even read.
to implement any MM you would need lots of players in queue at any given time, but when you split your playerbase on crossplay on and off, 3 servers and 6 campaigns you dont get many of them at any single queue. also it would require development time, when it is better used to actually work on merge then on some stopgap solution that would be obsolete in few months.

well when i wrote similar stuff saying that i dont expect it in this BP season, one dev made a statement that updates are not tied to BP, so idk if it is tease for merge update this year or negation for my statement cause i was tying BP with major update.
well if the merge works as advertised, there will be no more PvE (or will be severely downgraded). based on global numbers difference between allied and axis is around 5-10%, so you only need ~5% of the players to join any to have games with equal number of human players on both sides.
Thats a bit optimistic - unless they actually make stackers wait, the artificial 1m30s queue limit means you often get nonsense like instant queue into 1v10, no matter how many players are actually playing the campaign.
Unless they actually fix some of this the merge won’t help (that much). Especially when you’ll have dailies for playing specific side, up to few times every day, training people to permanently turn off matchmaking for “any”
well it will help immensely. biggest problem in enlisted is not actually number of players, but their uneven distribution alongside campaigns which gave you situations like this. 1v10 is rare and it is usually filled up after the match started. with merge you wont have situations like this cause there is usually same amount of allies and axis in the queue.

for matchmaking. I have Brits in maps and vice versa that do not belong there. Matchmaking in general is a joke.
