With the new BattleRating system for matchmaking why is it that I get put into Tier 5 games with a pure BR 3 lineup? Having to fight STG44s with my SVT 38s and face Tiger IIs with my 76mm t-34 makes for awful experience and creates an even wider equipment gap than we had before. Its not very historical either for what its worth.
So why not take inspiration from Warthunder and World of Tanks and create and a matchmaker that balances a maximum of 1 BR over / 1 BR under any given lineups BattleRating. So for example: a lineup thats Battlerating 3 would only be able to see BR 2s and BR 4s. That way you can still be both uptiered and downtiered but not to the ridiculous degree we have right now where you’re either totally overpowered against lesser BR:s or underpowered against higher BR:s.
I for one would rather have consistent playable matches with balanced equipment than having to leave multiple matches in a row cause my equipment is borderline useless in an uptier. This change would also encourage veteran players to build setups for lower BRs and spread out the playerbase across all BattleRatings.
The merge could be an overall good change for the balancing of the game in the long run but the matchmaker need to be fixed ASAP to make use of it. Because right now the game is even more unbalanced than Berlin and Normandy pre-merge ever was.
