Matchmaking for Japan and other factions

Could someone please remind me, if I am BR3 as Japan who am I fighting? If BR4 Japan who (which BR range) am I fighting.

If BR 4 Allied and fighting Japan, what would I potentially face? Same for BR3?

Japan seems to have funny rules. But that being said I have faced BR4 Axis when I was BR3, which I thought didn’t happen anymore?

Someone please clarify or reshare how MMing works.

BR4 Japan vs. USA BR 4-5

BR I will only ever see BR I and BR II.

BR II will see BR I, BR II and BR III.

BR III will see BR II, BR III and BR IV.

BR IV will see BR III, BR IV and BR V.


The only exception is Japan BR III will only see BR II and BR III.

Thanks, this is helpful. So Jap BR3 can never be up tiered…

As for BR3 Allies, I didn’t know they could face BR4, that makes me feel that I should use my BR4 a lot more. (Although BR5 is not my my fav fight)

If they just lock BR V hell to itself, I would probably never run anything other than BR IV, as it’s the true late war BR. However, because of the BR IV - V dilemma, I mostly run BR III since to me it’s the most balanced and has the most iconic weapons in the game.

Just realized that BR4 Japan will always be up tiered never facing 3, that will also influence my choice now, thanks for clearing that up too!

Although I love my Hei BR4 paras

They should give us now BR IV Japan to be honest all they need to do is give us ZH-29 and we can have BR IV Japan.
