Hello developers and fellow players,
I would like to propose an idea that could meaningfully improve both historical immersion and gameplay variety in Enlisted.
- Core Idea
Rather than applying the same vehicle slot limits to every map, the number of available ground vehicle and aircraft slots could vary depending on each map’s terrain and historical operational context.
This would allow each battlefield to develop its own tactical identity instead of feeling mechanically uniform.
Importantly, this proposal does not aim to increase vehicle spam — only to redistribute emphasis depending on the battlefield type.
- Historical Context with Practical Examples
World War II battlefields differed greatly in how armor and air power were deployed.
■ Urban Combat Example
In dense urban battles such as Stalingrad, tank mobility was heavily restricted due to rubble, narrow streets, and ambush risks. Tanks often served primarily as infantry support rather than breakthrough forces.
Suggested configuration:
- Ground vehicles: 1 slot
- Aircraft: 1 slot
→ Infantry becomes the primary combat arm.
■ Amphibious / Air-Superiority Example
During the early stages of operations such as Normandy, air power played a decisive role before large armored formations were fully deployed inland.
Suggested configuration (initial phase):
- Ground vehicles: 1 slot
- Aircraft: 3 slots
→ Air power becomes the operational focus.
■ Standard Inland Combined-Arms Example
In inland operations following major landings, combat often shifted toward a more balanced cooperation between infantry and armor.
Suggested configuration:
- Ground vehicles: 2 slots
- Aircraft: 1 slot
→ A balanced combined-arms battlefield.
- Controlled and Balanced Design
To prevent imbalance, the system could operate within a controlled range:
- Minimum: 1 slot
- Standard: 2 slots
- Maximum: 3 slots
- Adjustment limited to ±1 from the standard configuration
This ensures:
- No extreme vehicle dominance
- Clear experiential differences between maps
- Continued infantry relevance
- Better battlefield differentiation
Rather than increasing overall vehicle density, this system would redistribute battlefield emphasis according to historical and terrain-based roles.
- Gameplay Benefits
- Encourages players to adapt their lineup depending on the map
- Reduces repetitive “one-size-fits-all” meta strategies
- Increases replayability
- Strengthens immersion
- Makes each map feel intentionally designed
Urban maps would feel tense and infantry-driven.
Air-dominant scenarios would emphasize aerial control.
Standard maps would preserve balanced combined-arms gameplay.
- Conclusion
By introducing map-specific vehicle slot limits within a controlled 1–3 slot range, Enlisted could achieve:
- Stronger historical authenticity
- Clearer battlefield identity
- Improved balance between infantry, armor, and air
- Greater long-term gameplay variety
Thank you very much for your continued hard work on the game and for taking the time to read this suggestion. I truly appreciate the effort that goes into developing and maintaining Enlisted, and I hope this idea can contribute in a small way to making the battlefield experience even better for everyone.
If you support this idea or find it reasonable, please consider voting “Yes” in the poll to show that there is community interest in this approach. Thank you again!
