Map scale and LOS line

As in real life, any map is pretty much useless if you don’t know it’s scale.

Suggestion: add an indicator on the minimaps showing how long e.g. 100 meters really are. This would help many of the support weapons, e.g. anti tank weapons, but also mortars.

Being an anti tank soldier in real life (hah, wait a second: I actually WAS…), I’d use my map to familiarize myself with the landscape and specifically with the distances, to know how I’d have to aim my weapon depending on where the target is…

Also nice would be a LOS line! Sure, we have the FOV segment showing where we look at, but showing a line where exactly wee looka t would be nice (but I understand if this would be less desirable).

Is a great idea. And also would be great a Grid for maps like in WT, to locate the enemies if you cant spot them with V button. (Right click works fin if you open minimap with ‘M’, but grids could heps more.)

And finally we could yell that: “Attention to designated grid zone!” :joy:

Yeah.

Also, still got to find the map graphics, so maybe I can make some realistic looking maps just like I did for WT

Oh man, thats looks awsome, great job!
I like those contour lines and vegetation marking all around the map

Thx, it’s inspired by official Swiss 1:25’000 scale topographic maps.

I really love how they came out, and they’re fun to make, but very tedious work, and especially the process of getting aerial photos of the maps is very tricky. The map graphics of the games are useless for the process, as they are not detailed or accurate enough.

So each of my maps was created using dozens of screenshots from high over the battlefields, placing ebven individual trees as well as possible where they are, redarawing the exact contours of buildings etc…

Hm, just feel the urge now to start making some new ones, haha!
