Map preference system suggestions

I have a few suggestions and I let community decide which ones they would like in the game:

1. Guaranteed Preference Rotation

Players need guarantees. Suggest: “If a player has 3+ maps upvoted, the matchmaker must place them on one of those maps at least every 3-4 matches.” This prevents the “I upvoted 5 maps but see none of them for 10 games” problem.

2. Post-Match Map Voting Lobby

A proven system from other shooters: at the end of a match, present 3 random map options (excluding the current one) and let the remaining players vote. This keeps variety while giving democratic choice. The lobby can backfill with new players during the 30-second vote window.

3. Implement a True “Hard Blacklist”

Instead of soft preferences, give players 1-2 map slots they can outright blacklist per session. The matchmaker simply excludes these from rotation for that player. This is different from the current “downvote” system which apparently still puts you on those maps anyway

4. “Preferred Map” Queue

The matchmaker connects players with similar map preferences together within specified time window (atleast 30s). If no preferred map match was found, it falls back into the old (current) system. This respects preferences without killing queue times.

If I need to sit 45min in que to get that one and only specific map im willing to play its my problem.

No, the deserter penalty cannot be removed because this game would result in someone intentionally sabotaging the game and losing all matches.

??? People already intentionally sabotage by playing how they like. Deserting is sabotaging? No… I mean me personally i’d rather have bots than 75% of players i’d see.

Desertion was most common in people who like to cherry pick for easy wins or in this case wanting to play maps and game modes they want which is fine, if i have limited time I’ll try to play the maps i enjoy.

Furthermore the desertion penalty only hurts newer players. I before the penalty and after continue to leave every map and game mode combo i don’t like… it only hurts my silver gain which i have everything anyway… i still continue to do it with the box out.

Id like for you to explain how removing the desertion penalty would make people sabotage games?

Which right now if you don’t like the map but want to keep your full score for the next game technically incentivizes you to sabotage by playing selfishly… as to not kill enjoyment.

I’m not going to waste my time pushing some objectives in this game. I will instantly leave every time i get the pacific map with the hut, then beached battleship if im defending… adding the penalty did not address the issue which tried to be tackled at the same time.

Never mind on destruction… get HE’d on the first point relentlessly and then spammed on the bomb which they have the most easy access to… this is a problem with map design as the bomb should be in the ship… however that points at another problem.

Really it was about people cherry picking matches… but then they add map preference system to give an excuse to people who have this posts concern… adding the penalty at all was never necessary.

No one agrees with your explanation, which shows that not everyone likes deserters. If you accidentally enter a map you don’t like, quitting before the game starts is understandable. But if you quit midway, that’s deliberately causing trouble for your teammates. Enlisted is a WWII historical game that requires teamwork, not the kind of game you can just play whenever you want. If everyone did that, who would enjoy the fun of a WWII shooter? Therefore, I personally agree with increasing the penalties for deserters. If it’s a map selection issue, you can suggest solutions to the developers. But if players like you constantly abandon their teammates and avoid combat, nobody will like that.

Sounds like you agree that people should have a choice in map? I have an idea that’s been suggested… only enact the desertion penalty AFTER the battle has started or certain amount of time in.

No, I don’t condone desertion, but map filtering in the game is an option that should exist.

Yeah it’s supposed to be historical but plenty of the shit they implemented with the merge makes it very unhistorical. The least they can do is give us the ability to choose which maps WE want to play.

This is one of the main reasons I hardly ever play any more. I check back every now and again to see if things changed but I really just can’t get back into it.

Or maybe rework or so it can detect unfair matches and justified desertions ( coof coff having electricity cut while being top 1 of ur team with 500% booster :sneezing_face: and yet getting -20% penalty)

Or maybe improve MM that would work aswell

Don’t worry, as long as it doesn’t stray from the scope of World War II, it will remain a World War II historical game. If it turns into a Cold War game, I’ll abandon it too.

teamwork in this game is at a low point. With all the events they keep pushing on us people play for the score not the objectives. This game needs a serious overhaul. The research tree is a mess yet still ignored. Conquest I leave sorry but it is the dumbest thing to play only good thing I see it for is to level up new squads. They should just go back to the way it use to be with campaigns honestly. They got rid of weapon orders to now have something like it in events lol. I don’t think they have a clue what direction they want to go in this game anymore.
