Making objectives, capture points and bomb objectives sites make more sense since we're in a war

Sometimes i wonder why two armies are fighting for a random house that from the outside doesn’t look to have any strategical value

Many times the place where the objective is located sometimes feels random, for example places that are big constructions (churches, mansions, big public buildings, etc … … ) are good to defend and hold back s therefore it makes sense why 2 armies are fighting for control of it

Now fighting for a small house in a not strategical location or even sometimes fighting in open space with no cover makes no sense!

Although I know that overall the two armies are fighting to take the whole area and not just the strategical points but it still doesn’t make sense when we take into account the basics of warfare being strategy and a reason for why you’re fighting in that location

So yeah I just want the devs to choose the location of objectives with more sense since it’s a war, a catedral, school, hospital or bunker is way more important to capture than a random house.

The objective is just an excuse to bring all of the players together so they can try and kill one another, this game is very arcade, and my impression on the objectives is that some of them have different challenges, some of them can’t really be affected all that much by indirect fire some of them can definitely be, some of them can’t be that affected by armor some of them can, I think it’s about giving the three different elements the aircraft the tanks and the infantry varying degrees of importance on the point.

The houses do make sense. Houses overlooking crossroads or MSRs were routinely used in Normandy by German forces as MG points or places from which a first contact could be fought whilst a HQ element in a mansion or similar building in a village prepared to support or engage the enemy. Proof of this is in reports from the SRY engaging through Saint-Pierre and Fontenay for example.

So yes, houses could certainly be tactically important places. For example in Le Bre West the first building is well located to view the crossroads, and likewise the next position is well situated on the approaches to Le Bre.

A church would often be used as a OP point too as the SRY found. RAPs would often be located on an MSR which was set back from a frontline by a few hundred meters, for example the SRY’s RAP was located in a farm house and orchard outside of Fontenay during the attack. In general, the building was unimportant - it was important based on its positioning. A school wasn’t valuable if it was simply in the middle of town and could be quickly bypassed.

The open ones I do totally agree with you however. There’s no reason to engage on a large open plaza and you’d simply bypass it, the ones in Berlin seem particularly silly.

Depends since most houses in Berlin are bombed ruins where we cant hide or put something or -one in.
Also iirc many of those places are barricaded or have heavy guns and trucks there so it would make sesnse capturing those spots.
The commie plaza in SG also makes sense because its heavily fortified.

Some objectives absolutely need more cover and debris. It is not fun to run out into the open and just get cut down because it’s just an open line of sight for the enemy with next to no reasonable methods to counter. (I’m stating it like this because a lot of matches don’t have a ton of human players making intelligent choices these days).

In terms of realism the rubble of urban environments is exactly where you would dig into as it’s extremely difficult to route an enemy out of destroyed buildings as the Sixth Army found in Stalingrad. One example is the Volgograd Tractor Factory, which changed hands multiple times and was dug into over and over again by each side. OP was concerned about the realism of objectives, and obviously due to the lack of cover on a Plaza they wouldn’t be used as strong points. But irl you’d just smash a plaza with artillery and air support if it had been built into a spandau nest as opposed to enter the killing field as you do in Enlisted.
