So, how about instead of going from CQC laserbeams in the beginning to somewhat balanced but unrealistic in a recent update to very situational but in general borderline unusable in the newest one, you balance them properly, huh? Here’s my idea how to do it:
-
First of all, mounting/bipod mechanic. Instead of welding the gun to the ground at weird angles or to the window in a way that it shoots into it, I’d go for a Red Orchestra/Rising Storm style solution - whenever you get close to the cover - window, sandbag, etc. or ground, you get a recoil decrease bonus (which doesn’t block you from moving or restrict your aiming angles, when you walk too far from the cover or stand up, the recoil reduction just disappears). Because let’s face it, if you can rest your rifle on something, you will.
-
As for machine gun ADS accuracy, stamina drain and so on, I’d divide MGs into three categories:
-
Automatic rifles - They would still have sprint speed penalty but no ADS stamina drain and no decreased accuracy while moving. The distinguishing factor here would be a front grip and magazine up to 50 rounds. This category would include:
- BAR (all variants),
- Chauchat,
- Charlton Automatic Rifle,
- Châtellerault Mle 24/29 (it is in the files so I expect it being added at some point, plus it essentially completes that list)
-
LMGs - They would have sprint speed penalty and decreased accuracy while moving but no ADS stamina drain. The distinguishing factor here would be no front grip and magazine up to 50 rounds. This category would include all weapons not mentioned above or below.
-
GPMGs - They would have sprint speed penalty, decreased accuracy while moving and ADS stamina drain. The distinguishing factor here would be no front grip and magazine bigger than 50 rounds or a belt. This category would include:
- MG 34 (both belt and magazine fed variants)
- MG 42
- Browning M1919A6
- DT-29
- 75 round magazine MG 13
-
And just to clarify. The reason I wrote “both belt and magazine fed variants” next to the MG 34 is because this:
is not a drum magazine. Its name in German is Gurttrommel which translates to “belt drum” - it’s a belt holder, not a magazine of any kind.
