the user shelling the point with no one on it just starring at a machinegun mowing down his own teammates i wouldn’t really call it support the infantry.
being anywhere but near the infantry to help them push the objective is not supporting the infantry.
tank hunting from a cliff, for how much i can still sort of get it, it won’t help your team since their issues can be tanks, but for the majority of the time, their issue is getting to the point and drive off defender / attackers.
you just can’t make that stuff up.
for how much people can defend camping on a hill and using exsucuses with " there’s no other way " or " it’s effecting / i’m helping "
they simply are disillusioned.
don’t get me wrong, they can camp all they want on their hill.
but it benefits no one as they are doing nothing and taking a spots of a tank.
But it gives you another ability to make gz genius less useful.
Well that’s okay.
Yea and optics will give you some possibility to fight off.
There is no reason in the game to be near the point.
You’re a slow, clumsy blind. And your multi-ton iron monster can’t even move a pebble properly, crush a truck or stomp an infantry unit. So the game, by definition, is favoring gray zone campers, especially considering the map design, which could easily have fixed this problem, but they didn’t.
It doesn’t solve anything, it adds a pressure tool against tank.
You do know tanks weren’t meant for close quarter battles. They are meant to camp from afar to target hard enemy positions for infantry support. Only time you would see tank in a close up battle was if there was no way to target enemies from long ranges. During breakthrough attacks that’s when you could see tanks breaking through Frontlines even then they did it with many tanks at once in a formation covering all flanks so enemies couldn’t target them all otherwise it would be suicide.
as far enlisted goes, supporting the infantry does not mean lobbing shells from miles away from the infantry.
you’re literally helping no one lol.
i kid you not,
i evaluate more those who rush with the tank on point than those far sitter campers.
because at least infantry can use it’s dead tank as cover ( if they die ).
such tactic is jolly usefull in open maps.
tanks that sit in the back are rarely useful in this game.
at least, for my experience.
all sounds to me people find personal exscuses to tell to the next person and feel good about them selves in all honesty.
but of course, i could always be wrong.
on second thought though, i can sort of get defender tanks doing it.
There are enemies on the point, and they will build defenses on the point. It is your job as a tank to pump HE shells in there to destroy their defenses so that infantry can move in and take the objective. By putting yourself near enemy infantry, especially since almost everyone runs an AT man with their squads, they will put your tank down quickly.
This is not Fury. You are not helping by dying and not airing out the point because you just got popped by a panzerfaust. But I guess you are fine doing this since you probably just cycle tanks because you paid for a premium account.
